Taking her new blade, Vara went inside the castle, found an isolated hall, and started doing training drills she'd learned back at the Academy. She was out of form, and had been for a while, she knew. She couldn't let all of her skill show, or else people would start to question why a simple mercenary seemed to know so much. But for now, she worked on training. She needed to be able to keep up after all.

The quiet girl reaches for the tome as Mordecai hands it to her with his request and sets it nearby to study its inscriptions briefly before preparing a cauldron with ingredients lined across her wagon's various locked cabinets. She sets the broth alight and returns to the tome itself with a fresh stack of arcane parchments made from something brittle enough to be ephemeral in their raw state. Taking out an inkwell filled with a concoction using the ichor of deadly insects, Luca begins writing fresh pages for Mordecai's tome while chanting in a strange Azunite spell-tongue. The cauldron boils softly as she methodically scratches the new words of power into the pages, clasping each in a delicate grasping instrument before dipping them into the cauldron and setting the page aside for the next. She performs this task page after page as clockwork... until several dozens of pages later she has finished assembling the stack and binds them into the tome after removing those charges already spent.

"I... I see. Anyway, I think I need to get some more arrows."

She headed in to the castle, looking for the merchants.

"Hello, Mr Smith. I need a few arrows for my longbow."

"Banish. I would also like to have my tome replenished." While the blond-haired girl seemed to think things over, Dalaach took the opportunity to make his purchase, sliding the heavy, ornate book over to Luca so she could also recharge the magic within.

She pulled out her bow and unstrung it quickly before offering it to the smith.

Kristii looked up from the sleeve she had been handling and snapped as she suddenly looked in the direction of the smith's wares.
:"RIGHT I was gonna buy a sword! Here's a bunch of stuff I stole form the bandits, can I get that sword there?"

Everything he needed taken care of Charles decided to head into the keep. It no longer looked ready to fall apart and a few of the walls were reinforced now.  As he continued his survey of the keep he came across Vara training. He didn't really need to say anything but he wondered why she'd come in here to train. Wouldn't it be better to train out doors where there was more room?

"Oi Vara," he called out. "Having fun fighting your shadow?"

Vara stiffened as she heard Charles behind her. She started to whirl around, but then suddenly froze. She stood there en garde for a few seconds before flickering and disappearing.

Charles just stood there are Vara somehow left his vision without moving at all and then rubbed his eyes. Had he just been seeing things before? No, he'd definitely heard her and she'd reacted to him or was that part of it too? He honestly didn't know anymore. Maybe he was just tired, it'd been a fierce battle after all.

"Uh, are you there Vara?" He really hoped he wasn't going mad this quickly.

Vara was standing with her back to a nearby pillar, staring at her hands in shock. She didn't know how, but somehow she had gone invisible for a few seconds. She hesitantly stepped out from behind the pillar.

"I... Yes, I'm here. I don't... I don't know what I just did."

[F.O.E.]

"Oh, so I wasn't seeing things..." Charles mumbled under his breath, relieved.

"Well that makes two of us then. Perhaps we should see if Mordecai knows anything about it, that was probably magic or something like it at least."
