Lilie's training was encountering a few hiccups. The magical smoke was now wafting around the room despite the open windows and was getting in her eyes and lungs.
She hoped it wasn't poisonous.

Ah, while people were distracted by the news of a possible second necromancer! Now was the perfect time to buy the ring. If Lord Heston decided to be angry...well, it was sometimes easier to ask forgiveness than permission.

Coughing due to the overpowering smoke, Lilie remembered the lockpicks she had spotted on the merchant's wagon. Training appeared to be heading no where, so after making sure to close the windows and collect all her things, she returned and bought them - just in case.

: "Ah, Lilie. How are things going?"

"Everything's going WONDERFULLY! Definitely wasn't getting choked to death by smoke, no sir-ee."

Her voice seems slightly hoarse and the areas around her eyes are slightly red, like they've been watering. It's obvious she's faking.

[Sirus]

: "Ah. That's good." The vampire's voice was so flat that it was difficult to tell if he was joking or if he had believed the young woman. "If you wish to continue to avoid choking on smoke, I suggest practicing in a more-ventilated area than one of Lord Heston's towers."

[UXLZ]

"The only other place I can think of is in the courtyard, and if I lose control and something goes wrong there, I could hurt someone. It's not as unwieldy as that Dread tome, but I'm still not willing to take any chances until I'm better. Do you know anywhere isolated that still has fair... Er, that word you used."

Her eyes had cleared. She was speaking normally, now.

"By the way, are you alright? You're looking a bit... Shifty, right now. Probably my imagination, though."

[Sirus]

: "The courtyard is probably the best place, actually. Back in Old Nova, I would often practice my magic at the archery range - when it was empty, of course. People are used to staying out of the range for fear of getting shot, so it does not require any extra effort for them to avoid getting hit by magic."

: "And I am not being "shifty". I have simply bought an item that I feel will prove useful. I just haven't...well, asked permission to buy it. But I am sure that Lord Heston will see reason."

[UXLZ]

Lilie giggles.

"You look like such a straight-laced guy, but it seems like you can do some unscrupulous things as well, huh?"

"The next time I practice I'll try doing it at the range, in that case. Thank you for the advice."

[Sirus]

: "It--it's not "unscrupulous"," the vampire stammered. "I am...merely expediting the procural of an item that should be of use later on. After all Lord Heston is a very busy man and we should not bother him over such trivial manners. At least not until after the deal is finalized."

: "...In any case, you are welcome. And if you need additional advice feel free to ask."

Smiling even more, Lilie offers the vampire a question.

"That's a fancy way of saying that you're spending someone's money without asking them, isn't it?"

Apparently taking Tirena's words as the solution to his current predicament, Dalaach had, since his arrival in the castle's interior, began waiting in the main hall like a particularly displaced statue.
