"Quite," Heston said briefly, wanting to get onto business.

To Charles, it seemed the obvious choice would be to give the siblings a place to stay. He had more room, or would whenever the keep was repaired, then he needed and stood to gain a lot from the arrangement. But at the same time there had been many merchants who had come to his parents offering deals that seemed too good to be true. They often were, unfortunately for the merchants.

"It sounds good, almost too good. To be absolutely clear, in exchange for a place to stay and a workshop, you will craft and sell us weapons and scribe tomes for our use?"

"Well that took a strange turn."

At Vara's statement, Tirena stopped smiling. She guessed why.

[Sirus]

: "Ah. My condolences."

"It's... it's why I'm here. To get revenge against the Letians who took my brother from me."

"I... I'm sorry to hear that, Vara."

"Oops, I misunderstood. I wasn't jumping to a conclusion, I was considering a possibility. I'm sure that's something you do as well.
I will admit, I went to an extreme out of concern for Ms. Tirena..."

Attempting to evade the awkward atmosphere that had sprung up, Lilie decided not to continue with the discussion on Vara's brother. She probably didn't want to talk about it with the man they'd just met here, anyway.

[Sirus]

: "I suppose you can be forgiven for that, but Tirena is a grown woman. She can take care of her own affairs, at least in most cases."

[GiglameshDespair]

"Heh. Nice pun, Mords.

Well, if I somehow end both engaged and then breaking the engagement to the girl I haven't talked to yet, I'll let you say 'I told you so.'"

"It sounds good, almost too good. To be absolutely clear, in exchange for a place to stay and a workshop, you will craft and sell us weapons and scribe tomes for our use?"

"That's right. Workshop, and maybe expansions down the line, but we can get started with a small starting investment. We've even got wares on our wagons right now if you want to take a look at what we've been able to produce on the road."

[UXLZ]

"I would eagerly await the opportunity to do so if it weren't for the consequences, Ms. Tirena."

[GiglameshDespair]

"What's this Ms. Tirena jabber? You can just call Tirena, leechles."

"Technically I'm a noblewoman, I think, so I'd be a Lady, anyway."

"I may be a lady of romance, but Lady Nererand sounds far too stuffy for me."

[UXLZ]

"But Ms. Tirena has such a beautiful name, I can't help but do so."

[F.O.E.]

"That sounds reasonable. Let's check out what you have on your wagon, I could use a heavier lance..."

"Klessen, while I check out their wares inform the workers of that they need to build a workshop please."

[Swordstar]

Vara nodded in acceptance of their condolences and then sighed.

"I'm sorry... I just... need to get some fresh air I think."

As she started to walk away, she overheard the discussion of new weaponry. Deciding to take advantage of them heading outside, she quietly asked Charles,

"Excuse me, do you think I could tag along?"

Because when she was honest with herself, as much as she didn't want to talk about her brother right now, she also didn't really want to be alone.
