"That's probably a good idea, so as a full vampire, do you know anything that could help?"

Lilie thinks a bit longer.

"Oh! And that thing you were using in battle... Magic, was it? Do you think I could learn to use that, as well?"

Tirena felt the slight tingle of magic running through her hand as she picked up the staff. Better be careful not to touch the gem on the end - everyone knows that sort of thing doesn't end well.

"I wonder what forgotten old god this was for... ah well, you're as much dust as your followers now. Talking of said dust..."
After sneezing a few times, Tirena made her way back to the others.

"Hey, boss and assorted minions! I found a staff. How come the blind girl here is spotting the best stuff?"

"Probably because the blind girl is one of the only ones not bothering to help clean this mess up."

[Sirus]

Mordecai nodded.

: "As I explained to the others while you were unconscious, new vampires tend to be extremely bloodthirsty - literally - until the initial shock passes and they can develop some self-control. You may still be partly-human, but your killing of the necromancer was enough to waken the hunger within you. I imagine that you will be able to work past if fairly quickly, especially with the human portion of your mind providing some manner of restraint. As for the magic.." The vampire threw his armful of bones into a steadily-growing pile outside, dusted his hands, and created a ball of unusual light.

: "Vampires have an innate connection to what most term "dark magic", though not all take advantage of this connection and not all dark magic users are vampires. If you have a mind to learn, I could probably at least teach you the basics."

Kristii walked over to Charles, putting her hands behind her back.
:"Soooo, Charlie, you're a big important lord now, huh?"

[UXLZ]

"Do I need to drink blood like a full vampire?"

Lilie contemplates for a second.

"The basics would be fine. I don't think I have time to learn anything beyond that anyway... It doesn't seem like something you can learn that quickly. I'll have an advantage because of the vampire blood, and even then I'm not sure how long it will take."

[Sirus]

: "Possibly. If that thought makes you uncomfortable, we may be able to do without it. As for the magic, I get the feeling you'll pick it up fairly quickly. Mastery will, as you said, take a long time, but you will be able to fight with it once you get a lesson or two and we find a tome for your use."

[UXLZ]

"Well, it's not that I don't think I could do it. If I absolutely had to, but doesn't it taste... Er, bad?

If you think I'd be able to learn, please teach me as soon as we have the time."

[Sirus]

The vampire seemed mildly thrown off by the question.

: "Well, no. Not to vampires, anyway. I'm not sure what you'll think of it..."

: "But anyway, we'll get started later today assuming Lord Heston allows you to stay here. For now we have tasks to complete." As if for emphasis, he began gathering another armful of bones.

[UXLZ]

"Right. I'll go check out the rest of the castle and make sure there isn't anything unpleasant hiding there. Aside from that, there's a chance the necromancer was keeping prisoners. If I find anything, I'll run back here."

"We have peasants for clean up, don't we? Anyway..."

She waited until the half-vamp's footsteps had faded to the extent she would not be overheard.

"Should we really let the bloodthirsty stranger go looking for prisoners on her own? What if she decides she does want a drink after all? I'd go myself, but it's not like I could see whatever set you off earlier."

[Sirus]

: "What set her off is simple, really. When she killed the Necromancer, the smell and feel of blood triggered something almost like a feeding frenzy. Thankfully the swordwoman here managed to restrain her before things got out of hand, and she came out of it quickly enough. As long as she doesn't kill anyone else for the moment, she should be fine....probably."

[GiglameshDespair]

"Probably."

[Sirus]

The vampire pinched the bridge of his nose.

: "Yes, I admit I'm guessing. I've never encountered a partial-vampire before, and I haven't come across much in the way of literature about them. These are educated guesses, but that's all."

Lilie wanders around the castle, admiring its architecture, and searching for the entrance to the dungeon.
