Named Animal Leather

So, I have a question. If a named animal (not a pet, just some killer dog or something) dies and you butcher the corpse, is the leather called e.g. Vushid leather? I just had a named dog get killed by a cougar and I sort of want to have this hero memorialized in some trousers.

Bugger, I honestly wanted to have some guy decked out in named animal leather. My plan to farm it was catch a bunch of weak stuff, maybe wombats, drop them in a room and catch cougars, tame them, breed them and then get them named.
