Ask him if he still has the gun/what kind he used...while looking at him for any possible weapons he might hiding on his person.

Ask 'Oakentosh' what he likes most about his job while searching through the two night stands.
Brainstorming ideas on how to get the pendant from him:
-Wait till he goes to sleep and then blatantly take the pendant from him.
-Murder him.
-Beat him senseless.
-Gamble with him for the pendant (Either privately or in some gambling room).
-Offer to buy it from him (Cash or do a task for him).

He responds as you find a story book in the night stand, it's a large book,"Well there's the women, the free wine, the connections, being able to bring rich men to their knees begging on a dime to keep business flowing, and of course the free items that I get to take from time to time"

Beat the man to death with the large story book. Although it seems tempting to finish this "easy" task quickly by escalate to violence, I continue down the difficult route for now.
