Dragon in a fortress?
« on: January 27, 2015, 08:49:28 pm »

So, I heard a dragon was at a fortress. I never heard of a Dragon being inside of a fortress before and investigated it.
After spending about an hour of looking around, I decided I was done doing it legitimately and pulled up DFhack and used the 'reveal' command.
Spending another few minutes looking around, I found the big lizard...

"Okay, Cool," I say to myself, readying equipment, "now I just have to find the way... down? Uh..."

So after looking around... There is no way down. There is no stairs or hatches.
This would explain why the dragon has been here for forever...

Do I just have to use the slayrace/exterminate command and be on my way or is there a way to get it out and fight it... I was kinda hoping for a good fight.  :'(

(Sorry if this bug has been reported or not, I haven't seen anything about it.)

World gen fortresses bug up sometimes in adventure mode and parts get cut off from the surface/tunnels completely, noticed it several times when spawning in a fortress. Usually they are a nightmare to wander around but after checking every path I revealed the map to see the reason I couldn't find a way to the sounds just on the far wall was a staircase that had a solid wall on the level below it.

You can use advfort to dig a hole through a wall if you got a pick, gm-editor your pos to be on the right part of the map, do the same to the dragon, and various other methods I'm sure.

Thanks!

AdvFort seems like the best bet for what I'm trying to accomplish.   :D

Seems like it would be the perfect opportunity to use this script: ghostify.lua

Although you'd have to remove all of your clothing and weapons to actually get down there.  So maybe it's not the best option.

You sure? I've heard stories of ghostly animal trainers carrying meat through walls before.
