Any ideas for some shenanigans a Paladin in 3.5?
« on: January 27, 2015, 03:48:30 pm »

I am currently in a 3.5 DnD game an i am a paladian.

The typical high ac kind with a  shield and meant to protect others. But i also like deal pain.

I use charging smites and stab things
I also have a gem of true sight as a monocle and i have this habit of collecting weapons

I have
a mastercraft holy long sword
javalins,
a +1 whip
a silver flail
a adamanta battle axe
a lance and a +2 keen pickaxe

i am planing on getting a bag of holding but what other shenanigans should i attempt

I am getting use rope skill so i can do tricks with my whip
and that is all so far.

Erm, what?
If anything, this should go in the tabletop rpg thread, maybe FG&RP? Certainly not GD...

Is there a point to this thread other then pointing out that when behind a fictional persona you act like a child? And that you also do that when playing D&D?

He wants ideas as to what do do with his character next, which is kinda hard to tell him.

OP, you should move the thread to "Other Games" probably, definitely not General Discussion. Change the title for the first post, too, to something which states what you want. And put an introduction in: "I'm playing a character in D&D 3.5 and I'm looking fun suggestions for things I can do with the character". That way people will read it with a clue as to why you posted. I was expecting to hear tales of cool shenanigans you were already doing.

Plus, used spell check while posting. Misspelling as Paladian in your post is distracting.

You can deliberately be annoying and boring so we can ignore your threads. Good to know.

Okay, about the placement of the post, I asked some one, and he  told me it could post it here. I know i suck with spelling but that isn't the point. Waht i am looking for is either some skill, or item i should get or spell i could get to have some Shenanigans with. One person in the group want to make a amulet of the planes. It isn't so much role playing that i want ideas for it is more what i should do/get.

I do not plan on moving this since i was told by some one i could post it here.

ya happy now i fixed the title, and spell check seem to be a hit or miss with me.

Things Mr. Welch is no longer allowed to do in an RPG.

Type that into google.

Mission accomplished.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

In the full version of the Greyhawk setting there's a Demigod of paladins amd anachronistic technology maybe your character could follow him. And carry a gun like him.

See if you can get a vorpal sword, or other weapons that could cause your character to do things that are out of character (accidentally beheading other characters). Or some of those magic cards or bags where you can pull out random items but they can have backfire effects.

Work with the DM to weave your character Falling into the plot, spend the rest of the campaign fighting bitterly for redemption, either failing by the slightest margin or after long last recovering what was lost when the story is at an end, after the last threat has been defeated.

Or, y'know, snipe all the loot (even stuff you can't use), act more like a NE blood knight fighter than a LG pally and whine whenever someone complains, and betray the party at the worst time for giggles.
