You run out the back door and Joyeuse follows close behind.
An explosion shatters the windows of your apartment, setting off car alarms all around the block. A raging fire blazes within. You quickly dial 911, then enlist the help of Joyeuse and neighbors to douse the flames with a bucket brigade while waiting for help to arrive. But it is too late. One by one, you see your possessions inside crack and burn, while the flames near the front door prevent you from entering.
You start to feel sorry for yourself as you realize this is the second home you've lost in a few months—first, your apartment on campus, and now, this one. You'd hardly moved in. All those cardboard boxes probably burned pretty well.
"What am I going to do, Joyeuse?" you say miserably.
"'Why give ye thought for raiment?'," says Joyeuse. "'Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they do not toil, nor do they spin. Yet I say unto you even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed such as these.'"
You stare at Joyeuse. "What?"
"Sorry, Master. I was just trying to cheer you up with a quote I got off the Internet." It adds tentatively, "I think it means homeless people like you are like flowers."
You sigh.
One by one, reporters start to show up in their local news vans, setting up cameras that stream video of your destroyed apartment to the Internet. (++Fame)
You're pretty certain that the bomb was sent by Tammy, who sent you that death threat. Will you respond in kind?
1) Yes. Tonight is payback time.
2) No, the jazz concert will go on as planned.
3) I think I need to find a place to sleep, actually.
