You Are A Mushroom Man Tribe
« on: January 25, 2015, 06:16:05 pm »

OK Guys this idea came to me while I was playing this Dwarf Fortress mod, http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=147525.msg5978180#msg5978180 Essentially the idea is that posters influence a Mushroom Man Tribe by guiding it's Shaman. Anyways Intro Time:

You are a Pack of Mushroom Men. Considered weak, stupid, and pathetic by other Cavern Dwellers for Centuries. But No Longer, Now you shall rise up and Claim what is rightfully your birthright! Whether through Violence, Diplomacy or Something the GM hasn't thought of you must carve out a home for yourselves, Or Die And be used as Fertilizer for the Next Attempt!

OK, Now that that's out of the way, Onto Mechanics!

At The Start there is only one Tribe and it's small weak and isolated. Over a few Generations it will grow and divide into more Tribes and so on and so on. Anyways the Posters choose which shaman they want to speak to and can change their shaman at any time, This is just to give a sense of Factionalism. Now read the below junk and pick the Tribe's starting information.

You have 2 Points to spend on Traits and can get Negative Traits to get more points, Eventually the Mushroom Men will develop new Traits and lose old ones, So it's not set in Stone.

A Spear is the sort of innovation that would cost 6 points, You can forget bows and arrows, Considering that you're attempting to survive in the Caverns, Numbers are usually pretty important. If you want metalworking and magic you'll have to earn it.

Once everybody comes to a consensus regarding the Tribe Traits I'll post the Technology stuff, You guys can change the Trait Setup at any time before the game actually starts, And it takes quite a while to research unless you have Lots of Mushroom Men working on it or superior intelligence. You can also reverse engineer or trade Technology from other civilizations.

Can we take the same trait twice to make it better?

That gave me the amusing idea of starting with invincible fanatically religious god-mushrooms that just taste really really really really REALLY good.

No, But Traits will get better over time, Of course the Development System is completely random so it can go either way.

I think fire and plant knowledge are a must but I wouldn't know how to rebalance the sheet.
