Sorcerer exclusive?  Really?  Huh.  I should take it then, when I get the chance.

I suppose it's worth an ask: Could I learn this spell from the scroll?

It has been determined that Trump is an average unladen swallow travelling northbound at his maximum sustainable speed of -3 Obama-cubits per second in the middle of a class 3 hurricane.

That's a no. However, you can cast it from the scroll.

Could you? :P I thought learning spells from books was a wizard thing.

I believe you can just choose it for your spell list when you level-up for free. Like, you saw the scroll? Bam, you know it. Not much more complicated than that.

That's right.
In fact, it's a spell I was going to get myself-it's an excellent way to force a Dragon down to the ground! Which is why I suspect it was awarded to us...
I was under the impression that it was a sorcerer exclusive spell.

I'm looking at the temple of elemental evil companion and wizards, sorcerers, druid and warlocks can all learn it.

Yes, but can I learn EXTRA spells via studying scrolls?

E:Nope.

If I studied how wizard magic works, could I reverse-engineer it to convert a scroll to a Sorcerer spell if Sorcerer has that spell?

(Arcana check: 8+3)
Spell scrolls aren't tied down to a single class. If you get a scroll of Fire Bolt, a wizard or a sorcerer could cast it. If you got a scroll of Light, basically everyone can read and use it.

Why did you...
This is the OOC, remember?
And that wasn't my question, really.
If I studied the theory behind wizardry, could I figurd out how to cast a spell from a scroll with sorcerer class levels?

Ha.
No but seriously, if a Sorcerer studied the spell, could he or she puzzle out how to replicate the effect?
Probably would be limited by INT...

When you say studying the theory behind wizardry, do you mean actually taking wizard levels, or roleplaying the process in the hopes of a homebrewed feat (Say, "Arcane Study: Through intense study, you have learned how to apply the realm of the prepared arcane arts to your spontaneous sorcerous skills. You may now scribe spells from scrolls into your being as though it were a spellbook, adding these spells to your spell list," albeit with some disadvantage for basically negating one of the key differences between the wizard and sorcerer)?  Because if it's the former, spell casting for multiclass is apparently handled separately from a cursory search, but the latter is whatever the DM so desires.

If you make a feat representative of what you'd like to see, then we can talk about it.

In the meantime, we're good to go, right?
