Interested, but never even looked at 4e, to my memory, never mind 5e.

5e is similar enough to 3.5e that it was really easy to get into. I honestly prefer it.

I personally found it a really simplified version of 3.5e-they streamlined everything, you can make a char in a few minutes without having to look things up. Combat is simplified too. They condensed alot of things into disadvantage/advantage rolls, like the rogues sneak attack. There's no numerical bonus to look up for flanking, for example, or aid another. Saves, Attack Modifier, Skill numbers, and Spell abilities are all a single number related to your class.

Given I really like RP over number crunching/min maxing, it's an improvement to me.

The PDF linked in the OP should contain everything necessary to create a character.  It's what I'm using, at least.

I'm kinda considering adding a sheet in, but the stats I rolled rather overlap with preexisting characters as far as potential roles are concerned.  It's perfectly normal with rolled stats to get something like that, but it does mean that I can't fill a gap that may need filling.  Plus, I've never played 5e before, either.
