Anyway, time for some pre-story, mayhaps.

You're all chaotic leaning peasants, while I'm a lawful good noblewoman. Seems like a "they all met in a tavern situation", but I wouldn't mind partnering up with someone backstory wise. It would be a good intro as to how you got in on the whole dragon business-my char is a junior member of Lords Alliance, tutored by a metallic dragon, which explains about how she'll come into the game...

Anyone interested? Note, her home town is literally right about where the game is going to start. It'll be probably be burnt down by Evil Dragons at some point, as per the standard RPG plot. Sweetpea and Mirella almost certainly have passed through/around Beregost at some point. Arwen seems to have a military background-given his CG alignment it wasn't an *official* military, maybe a freedom fighter?-but there's no fluff I can see, so no help there.

If you guys want to tie backstories together, that's a-okay. BTW, I don't believe I mentioned this, but you're going to dumped on a road to a village with a bit of exposition, so no tavern is involved yet.

It was a good day for magic, Johanna thought. It was also a good day for running.

Funny, how often those two things coincide...

She was currently doing both.

Behind her, there was a constant droning buzz, broken only by an insane chittering noise. It was quite disturbing.

BZZZZZ...Yeek yeek yeek!...BZZZZZ...Yeek yeek yeek!

She could see the roadway in front of her-leading to Baldur's Gate. Oddly, there was...a person? A small group? Hard to tell at this distance, but they, he, or she just were standing there, gawping at her.

"Run! Run for your lives! They've broken free from the containment grid!" She warned them, waving her arms. She hoped they listened to her! These creatures spared no one...

The horrible noise got closer, and angrier.

Anyone looking behind the fleeing Dwarf wizard would see a terrible sight-a flock of monsters, buzzing toward her furiously.

The DM is going to award this canonicity, and encourages everyone to post a couple times. He is currently in midterms week, and will get the IC thread up as soon as possible.

The young (for elves, at least) rogue had been making her quiet way down the road. She'd sat down for a brief rest on the stone just off the path, in the cool shade of a oak. She'd put Baldur's Gate behind her.

Then a dwarf stampeded past. There was a buzzing sound.

The rogue saw the approaching swarm, and the swarm saw her, several of the creatures angling towards her.

Time to go.

She burst in motion behind the dwarf. Her chest jarred painfully with every step.
"What.. did.. .you... do...?" She managed to gasp to the dwarf.

"Attempt...ed...a...solo...9th tier...extra....planar...multi...level....gating...ritual...with...circumstance...by...lateral...
invisio...transport...ation...via...arcane..triple...reinforced....protect...ive....grid..." She attempted to explain.

Unfortunately the monkeybees were catching up while she did so.
