...Humm, seriously tho, you could fill in your saves and skills. All that stuff is just your stats, plus your proficiency bonus where applicable. Also your AC and Init, which would be 15 ((11+dex)) and 4 (dex). Your passive perception is just your perception check-in your case is 14 (10base+2wis+2Prof).

I made this mistake. Twice. MyNameisMaterial corrected me.

You can either choose to roll for gold and purchase equipment OR pick the items granted to you by your class. Not both.

You get the background stuff regardless.

Each background provides a package of starting equipment. If you use the optional rule from chapter 5 to spend coin on gear, you do not receive the starting equipment from your background.

I didn't know about only getting the class item lists if you don't use rolled wealth, though.  I'll go fix that up.

To be honest, you don't need much. I've read a half dozen Drizzt novels and I suppose I qualify for basic comprehension.

Baldur's Gate is a big, rich port city. A good place to start.

Check the map^ It's big, but it lets me zoom in, anyway. Start up in the upper left corner-Icewind Dale, then trace the road from Luskan Southwards, done to Baldurs. You'll get essentially where our game is taking place. If you like the name of a place, googlefu it and build your backstory around it. that's what I did. Beregost (my characters home town) is South of Baldurs gate and East of Candlekeep.

Edit: Oh yeah, don't be confused if you find TWO maps of Faerun. Everything blew up at some point and Catti-brie got killed by a damn lightning bolt.

Unless this game takes place BEFORE that happened.
