Behavior is not based in intellect. It's based in upbringing. What do you think would happen if you gave a toddler who has had no interaction with anyone a big shiny button that let's them launch nuclear missiles? They'll go "ooh! Bright lights!" And press the button repeatedly.

For the purposes of being less confusing, you should probably rename. Two different classifications for the same thing with the same naming convention will 100% cause headaches.

Haking is still possible if the hacker in question has studied said alien computer systems, but upon encountering a new one they'd still have to learn to hack it.

Hmm? I think the argument is more towards openness than narrowing it down A lighthearted note just poked that, when stating something is {x} as times better than {y}, it usually pertains to the observed processing power of that entity rather than its holistic capability.

I assume Kevak is using humans as a metric here, since though they are absent here, as human writers they make a very handy point of comparison for us. All these species would have a wide range of intelligence, and be intelligent in different ways.

In that case, substitute the word "humanity" for the various races.

The point still stands - all the genius, the stupidity, and the creativity of humanity is somehow ten times inferior to an intelligence which exists soley to remind the "human-like" intelligences not to blow moons out of orbit or carve genitalia into mountainsides.
