"So my first question is do I get a lollypop at the end of this?"
"If you want and please take a seat. So let's start off by telling me a little bit about yourself.

(It's different enough)
(It should also be noted that, at this point, they've all been on the ship for several months now, as it needed that time to build up speed for the FTL jump they've just come out of, but there are a number of good ways to explain the current situation. Just can't go into detail right now, because class is imminent.)

((There seem to be a lot of things that are assumed we know or we can work out amongst themselves. Put on thy armored gauntlet, GM, and show us the grand plot railroad, or we shall flounder like idiots forever!

Seriously, put us somewhere interesting soon.))

"Wait, you? Why you? I mean, shouldn't it be the one doing this analysis? Is there's something I am not aware of?"

DAD Tym shakes his featureless head at Enzarl.

"Well, it all ties into my already mentioned assessment. Point is, our cosmonaut brigade, when taken as a whole, doesn't seem to be terribly bright, as I'm sure you've noticed in all this time. And what is it that a sensible person does when there's no intelligent conversation to be had? Correct! He judges everyone."

OOC: So I had some time and I made this. Its not complete but I have the first alien's format done. It's basically a way to keep track of stuff. To use it just hit "present" and click the links.

Well I guess we'll start from birth, I was born 10 years ago in my hive into a family of 500. My father was dead and my mother often ordered us to do chores around the hive while she sat around and did practically nothing. Before we continue, can we call mom by her first name Queen instead, I don't really feel comfortable referring to her or my siblings with familial terms. I know it's technically correct but we didn't really consider ourselves as a family, it felt more like being a rich nobleman in a kingdom filled with peasants

Anyway, correction on what I previously said. Queen only ordered the workers to do chores. Since I'm not female I got to laze around and eat a glorious feast everyday. Of course I had no idea that someday I would actually have to do some work. Throughout my life in the hive I only ever got 2 jobs. The first was defending the hive from an invasion from another hive. Although I am a drone and therefore have no stinger I still have very sharp mandibles that could chew a grapefruit sized hole in most organic beings so I was sent out to fight. There I met one of the invaders. It quite surprised me how much of a blood rage I got into. The only thought that was on my mind was KILL, KILL, KILL as if there was some sort of deep genetically ingrained hatred to any of member of my species that's not from my hive. So after killing him with a bite to the neck and then eating his corpse the queen announced that the siege was repelled and I went back to my job of doing nothing.

Then a month later my second job in the hive arrived and it was the one I was genetically destined to go for, to mate with the queen.  I don't know why I didn't just walk into my own death like every other drone had but I decided to run away in fear of my life.

There is more after this but you can just find it in my file. Eugenocorp made sure that I was always closely monitored and they have every detail written somewhere.

Is there anything else you would like to know?

OOC: wow that was long. Don't worry I'll be shorter with my other answers

Well let's see, I find the gravity on this ship and most planets a bit too strong. Because of this I'm in an eternal state of lightheadedness, I think? Also my blood is made of crappy hemolymph rather than awesome hemoglobin so I need more oxygen than average to survive and I also suffocate quicker. I am also a glutton and rather lazy. I guess that's all.

NOW GIVE ME MY LOLLYPOP!!!!

They can help you cope with the high gravity and help your body absorb oxygen and it has other beneficial properties as well."

OOC: Everyone here should have passed a preliminary test to ensure that they wont be a danger or else they wouldn't be allowed on the mission. My main job is to make sure everyone remains stable throughout the mission.

Awwwww, but I didn't even get to the part were I falsely sued Eugenocorp for causing the extinction of my species just so I wouldn't need to get a real job, and I won. But try to guess what happened, guess..... I WAS FORCED INTO A REAL JOB ANYWAY DESPITE WINNING THE CASE! CAN YOU BELIEVE THOSE JERKS, ME HAVING TO WORK!!!

Of course I love this job. All I do is just sleep in my bed for months until the intercom asks me to do something. It's brilliant!

What'd you say doc. Sorry I was interrupted by the soundproof walls talking to me, no biggie. Also about the nanmachines, sure. Although they probably won't give me back the ability to fly again nor allow me to deflect lasers with my mind I still like the idea of not passing out due to laughing at a joke for too long.

Wait, so what do you actually do on this ship? Oh and it might take awhile for the nano-machines to get used to you, but it depends on the individual. [/color]"

Well as already seen in my documents I am an engineer/mechanic. I am authorized to repair broken things whenever the AI isn't already doing that as well as designing blueprints for any new robots that may need to be invented for certain situations. I believe I am also available to help the archeologist if he needs help restoring an ancient robot. I can also be of use if you need a bridge in a hurry. Of course since all we've been doing so far is traveling in empty space I haven't been needed at the moment. Once things start to go wrong then I will be useful. Although I will be useful right now and point out a design flaw in this ship. There is not a single room with zero gravity in this ship. This is a problem since we won't be able to conduct any zero gravity experiments on the things we find.

(More important notes!)
(Again, despite translation conventions, Earth references still seem a bit out of place. Idioms and common metaphors and whatnot are fine, just things like "a hole the size of a grapefruit" are a bit off. Though I guess you could make the argument that it translates as that because the bugs have something very similar to a grapefruit on their planet so its not worth up making another word for it. But, still, keep in mind.)

(I was planning on just having a round of preliminary actions before doing the entrance proper, but this psych stuff has started a scene, so we must see that to its conclusion. Which is not necessarily a bad thing. It gives us some time to get to know the characters.)

(A NOTE ON TIMESCALES: Since, by its very nature, space travel can have a lot of time and distance pass without any significant events, it would be very boring to play the entire game on the day-to-day, minute-to-minute, word-by-word pace. So, from your character's perspective, when such intervals come up it may be better to write as if it were their journal. Mini-scenes of day-to-day stuff can be a good way to fill the interlude as well but if you do one try to keep it short. Unless it escalates or something.)

((Incorrect. Only the ring sections have artificial gravity. The central cylinder that comprises most of the ship's volume isn't rotating (sufficiently) to produce artificial gravity.))

The AI chimes in via intercom.

"Incorrect. As the gravity is generated via rotation of the ship. The center lacks gravity. And by association. The entire manufactory lacks gravity to lower energy costs."

"As for you trying to design robots. Please keep that as a side hobby. Don't claim you actually design automations intended for real use."
