Given how expensive glass and aluminium were to make using DF technology, I would say emphatically NO.

Most past taverns had beer out of a keg and drinkers even brought their own tankards. Every dwarf should have a menacing *mudstone mug* on him.

On the item is an image of a dwarf and an elephant. The elephant is striking down the dwarf.

For old times' sake.

Scottish Christmas: Start drinking Bucks Fizz (champagne and orange juice) with breakfast; get through a bottle each by dinner; get through a few bottles of wine over dinner; drink liqueurs into the night.

Though none of this is terribly exotic, except maybe to Americans. Northern Europeans drink a lot of everything sporadically, and southern Europeans drink a little wine continuously. Those two, and varying degrees of abstinence, are pretty much the only possible 'drinking cultures', aside from specific drinking rituals.

Where I am from:

One culture is when you gather with friends at a pub or at home and have a pitcher or a few drinks, sometimes you pace yourself and drink all night. This is a social ritual often accompanied by food, often once or twice a week. There is much socialization, and the drinks are often cider and beers.

The other type of drinking are mass social gatherings not dissimilar from Bacchian orgies: very loud music plays as people grind and dance rhythmically in a central area where they gradually consume more and more alcohol and at the nights climax partner up, go to their residences, and copulate.

Both of these drinking cultures have merits.

I think anyone who says a certain mind altering substances is inherently bad or "poison" has an extremely limited and simple perspective on human behavior and experience.

Let's refresh it with a few pictures:

Almost dwarvish, no?

The entire content consists of senseless murder, a pile of faceless naked women and zero regard for human life in general, all in the service of the protagonist's base impulses. It is clearly a cry for help from a neglected, self absorbed and disempowered juvenile badly in need of affectionate guidance. What a sad, sad display.
