March of 1932 With the Councils approval the department kicks itself into high gear. While most of the council works on the patrol boat, the factory, or just checking what they have to work with one of the Board members, a rather confusing man by the name of Harold McGerald, decides to setup an icecream parlor within the military base. After obtaining the necessary materials and requisitioning a shack, he sets up and makes a grand total of two different flavors, Vinilla and... fish. Herring, to be precise. While this second flavor is less accepted, soon a line stretches away from the shed, full of men who really want to have some icecream and are willing to do some extra exercise for it. The base commander appears to not know it exists, but some say they have seen his assistant heading towards his office with ice cream in hand...
You rolled a 98 on the general success roll. Lucky man. Meanwhile, most of the team is working on project CPVM1923-X, also known as the coastal patrol vessel. Design work goes well, as wooden hulled boats are nothing new, and a trade for high speed vessels has cropped up due to the Americans being silly, and work goes rather well until the building the work is going on in catches fire. Everyone scrambles to put it out, and manage to, but the building and the contents are a total loss.(-1 small workshop, +1 badly damaged small workshop. Future actions concerning this design will be easier)
2 on initial roll, 12 on fire roll. In another section of the main island work has started on a factory to build vehicles, specifically armored ones, from local materials. A building made of stone quickly rises, which is estimated to be able to be able to build a pair of trucks a day, or a light tank every other day. That is, of course, if the equipment had arrived yet. Still, the order has been placed with the main land, and the necessary goods should arrive next month, along with some of the materials for a few vehicles. Workers have also been hired, and have started training for the work. (+1 nearly complete vehicle factory (15 lt tank per month))
90 on the initial roll, minus a bit for material waiting and you not being from around here. Mr. Flint and friends headed down to the drydock, inorder to see what they could turn out there. The dock is about 30m wide and 100m long, and should be able to deal with anything up to 500t. There is also a launching slip nearby, so smaller vessels could be launched without needing to use the drydock.
Partway into the month the monthly Gold ship departed from the Island chain, carrying with it Mr. Cessbit, Mr. Krushkov and Mr. Petrovich, first to France, and then elsewhere on their tour of exploration and whatever else they have in mind. During this time Mr. Churnos slips away, never to be seen again.
Meanwhile the Council sets to work assigning more people to the department. A pair of young architects, two former gunnery officers, nine general laborers, and a group of six young engineers join the department, not counting the workers currently in training for the factory.
The other board members have decided during this time to start work on a general purpose truck, the design of which goes very well indeed. Sadly, the prototype is heavily damaged in the fire, and work on it is set back some.
The ballistics engineers, with nothing better to do, spent much of the month designing a multiple gun mount for the MM1911, which although they tried their best isint that much more than a pair of guns attached together sideways, which limits just about everything. Not to get it wrong, its functional, its just not all that good.
