To be honest 154 is not really a large number for roasts.
What's really amazing is the second picture.

With all that minced pomegranate, I'm pretty sure this is, in fact, some variety of dwarven fruitcake.
Or possibly pomegranate jam.

This is a side-effect of dwarven animal training (hit animal with hammer until it forgets that it hates you, then lovingly cuddle it).

Maybe there should be a new mood for chefs.

I'm Urist Ramsay and this is Hell's Kitchen.

There's too much pomegranate!

Now we'll use the surplus pomegranate to accent the flavor of this clown meat. Yes, when I say this show is called Hell's Kitchen, I don't lie.

These are definitely spartan meals, able to feed a few hundred.

That's amazing!

...oh hey, you embarked in a tropical area, didn't you? I've got lots of tropical fruits in my current fortress too. ;)

(Huh, according to Wikipedia, carambola is also known as "starfruit".)

How did you do it ? Did you do something with the forbidding of stuff in the kitchen ?

Wow... Dwarf Chutney for the win.

I'm new to succession forts in general, yes, but do all forts designed by multiple overseers inevitably degenerate into a body-filled labyrinth of chaos and despair like this? Or is this just a Battlefailed thing?

I think it was actually like Planpacked, related to burrows.

I had an invasion, so I sent all the civilians to an indoor burrow. Shortly after finishing the invasion, I got a caravan. I sorted tradable goods by value, and this stack of roasts was at the top. So I didn't see it in progress, but I figure since it was right after the assigning to (and then releasing from) the burrow, and burrowing used to cause a similar issue on artifacts, that it's the most likely explanation.

There's too much fruit to be anything but some sort of fruit preserves.  In American usage, it would probably be considered "preserves", or more generally "jam"; while it has expertly cut fruit and some citrus (desert lime, bitter orange, etc.) there's not really enough in proportion to the other fruits that it would be considered a "marmalade".  According to EU standards, I think it would legally be "jam"; it fails being "extra jam" only due to having melon mixed in.

Spartan food contained pomegranate, but not all those star fruit and lychees. These meals are not remotely Spartan, or Greek at all for that matter.

This looks like fruit smoothie to me.

Now, since it's a roast.. perhaps it's a fruit leather?
