Suggestions for mobs, huh? kk:

Troglodyte "Trog"
Maxing out at about 5 feet tall, but usually shorter than most humans, Troglodytes are lanky brown-skinned humanoids that live and hunt in caves and other dark environments. They typically try to launch surprise attacks with thrown javelins first, then use clubs and/or claws in melee combat. They can see in the dark quite well, but are easily confounded by bright lights, and absolutely detest fire. Their hearing is acute in caves and narrow passageways where there is plenty of matter to conduct sound, but their physical reflexes and willpower are not really worth mentioning.

Gretchin
These are cowardly goblin-like creatures that only get to about 3-4 feet tall, if that. They are very fast, however, and are good at squeezing through narrow passageways and climbing rough walls. Their primary concern is snatching gold and other shiny items off the ground when players are busy elsewhere, though they aren't above trying a backstab attack in the dark if their target is alone and unaware.

ANYWAYS! Action time!

Gold! Gold! Glorious gold! I pick up the coins, taking a moment to inspect each side for clues about how old they might be. I then return to the original room and take the torch off its wall sconce, then proceed down the west hallway (the one the zombie was standing in when I killed it), and peer carefully around the edge. (If I can't do all those moves at once, then just take the torch and remain there for now.)

Oh... sorry. I didn't know it'd be extra work for you. Want me to just leave the torch there? It just seemed wise to take it with me; in the old NES game Shadowgate, you never go ANYWHERE without a torch, or you die. Period.

You walk into the West room. It's dimly-lit, and there's a door on all three other sides. You then notice the three zombies on the North-West trying to kill a Troglodyte.

A Gretchin! Hah! I step fully into the hallway with spear at the ready, raise myself up to full height, and ROAR like a giant gorilla to intimidate the little creature into submission! Even it isn't stupid enough to attack an opponent twice its size and holding a spear head-on!

... right?

((Could you tell what all those bonuses in rolls are? As in what are you rolling and how they are determined?))

collect any loot the two zambies have dropped on the ground. Then go and put my ear to the door north fo me. Maybe look through the keyhole if there is one.

You sneak into the Southern door, and find yourself in an unlit hallway. Immediately to your South is a door, and the hallway turns South in your East and West. You can make out faint sounds of fighting down the West side...

You feel a minor surge of strength, then charge at the Zombie while picking up the coins!

Which then snaps. You earn 4 exp (23 more for levelup) and the Zombie drops two coins.

Further South, the hallway bends to the West. You hear a bit of shuffling from there...

You collect your seven coins and peek through the North door. You don't see much, but you make it out to be an unlit hallway running East and West.

You hear a little bit of scratching down the East side.
