What is the public opinion regarding Plump Helmet Men?

Personally I think that they'd make a decent Tribal Civilization, On top of the fact that they make good alcohol.

Yeah, maybe they brew their own toe nails.

Never really see them much. I don't really have any opinion on them.

Never see 'em.  I don't think they'd make good anything.

Even when I used to mount massive cavern expeditions in fortress mode, I hardly saw any.
They seem pretty chill, though.

I guess killing other cavern creatures may cause new ones to spawn.
I saw lots of them in the deceased list after a FB came.

Not brewable, therefore not worth my time to deal with.

Obligatory plug for IndigoFenix's excellent mod. They're pretty useful with this installed, though rather dangerous if you aren't careful. I've never seen them outside of when I was using that.

I have been trying to mod them to be brewable for a long time, but I have failed.

IndigoFenix mod (standalone for vanilla) is pretty amazing. It gives them an AI and makes them brewable and pets.

You can buy and breed them for cheap plump helmets and booze, but if they outnumber you or if you dont check on them regurarily they will riot or sneak around and murder dwarves in their sleep. Its pretty neat, and the modding stuff in the background is impressive. :)

I know, And that is one of my favorite mods.

Depends on whether a dwarven brewer is attempting to force them through a pasta strainer. :P

They interfere with the shackling and brain-boxing of Cave Crocs and Giant Bats.

However, they are peaceful, so I capture and release them onto the surface.

Preferable to crundles.

I'm new to succession forts in general, yes, but do all forts designed by multiple overseers inevitably degenerate into a body-filled labyrinth of chaos and despair like this? Or is this just a Battlefailed thing?
