For the post part, it will probably be a set of four traits that points can be taken into, a few subtraits for some of those, and a few perks that cost (or give) points that have an effect on some things.

As for an enemy, probably various nations who want gold for cheap and dont really care about who they hurt to get it, although theyre may be others, depending on what you get the council to decide (which will mostly be a random thing, since it will just be a list of options for each and then randomized in the list.)

Heck, for all I know, I could get someone to run a game along side this for the military side... That would be fun. Or even for the diplo side too...

Same nation. Having more than one nation and only one real resourse would be a pain, and so would semi-realistic development times (most things would probally take about two years to design, and then you have the building times added on. Plus it takes time for the military to get used to it.)

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

Just a note regarding numbers of people and rolls: I think I am gonna max it out at 10 people, and each person can do atleast one thing, depending on size of project and location. For instance, one dude could go to, say, America to buy some surplus from WW1 and while there see about selling a weapon design or work as head of a design team developing a arty piece and on one developing shells for that arty piece, but not both sets.

Also, skills would probably be separated into a number of categories, such as radio, naval engendering, aerodynamic engendering, etc. etc...

That does bring up the point of general tech level of the islands. I know you sated it was 1932, but that doesn't necessarily mean the army is up to 1932 standards. Do we have tanks(even if it's just an ft-17 clone)? Planes? What is the army situation?

Well the OP does mention aircraft and tanks, so you would presumably have both.
