Whew. Alright. I made this sheet once before, but I accidently deleted it. So here it is again, my sheet mark 2. Written between the hours of 2 to 4 in the morning. So I'm sure it will be of real quality. (I caught so many spelling errors and word omissions in this state, I'm truly terrified of what I missed.)

Name: David Diaz "The Glutton"
Country of origin: Mexico
Monster ancestor: The Cipactli. A monstrous Crocodile/toad/fish from Aztec mythology. It was killed and it's body became the earth.

Potentials:

Strength: 180
Constitution: 130
Dexterity: 20
Charisma: 110
Perception: 60
Willpower: 100 (cannot add points)

Attunements: 5%

Beginning trait: The Monstrous Mouth. Davids monster Ancestry has expressed itself in giving him an impossible ability of consumption. His mouth can open improbably wide. His teeth larger, sharper, and much much tougher then is natural. And his stomach can handle an immense variety and volume of material. In essence, he can eat damn near anything. (Or just some stuff, subject to balancing.)

You write that well at 2 in the morning? 0.o :P

But yeah, sheet looks fine.

So... this is modern times right? The factions make it sound like it's WW2 era for some reason.
Yeah, it's a short while in the future. Nuclear weaponry was disarmed, and with that barrier gone land grabs started, and things followed on and war broke out. The main agitators, at least to start, were Russia and China, and they allied to oppose any real resistance.
The Axis/Allies parallel is not exact - for example, here Axis refers to the Russia side, whilst Allies includes Germany (or at least the half that's still in their territory.) It's just the terms that are used by people in the West to refer to the sides.

All said, I plan to start this some time this weekend. Would people like a separate IC thread, so that mythology/speculation discussion won't clutter things up?

I just did some editing of my character to flesh her backstory out a bit more.

Also Cript, Ven miiiiight get along with David. They both appear to have a hankering for human flesh.

An IC thread would make sense.

Do you plan on running this similar to Einstein Roulette? Mission based?

If so, a Base Thread and a Mission Thread might make more sense, so people not on missions could rp and train.

I'm considering it, given I now have enough players for 2 4-man squads.

You write that well at 2 in the morning? 0.o :P

You mean that much :P

Although it actually is a bit of a funny story. I absolutely fucking hate my own writing, so I almost always write my backstories for role playing characters really late at night, because it's only when I'm too tired to care and with the sense of "ugh I need to sleep, so I better write this quick so I can" that I won't spend hours or days agonizing over a inability to express myself and stewing in my own disdain for what I write. So one could certainly say I write better, or at least at all, at 2 in the morning! This time I think I went a bit too far, the stuff I wrote after three (75% of the description and the last three paragraphs (and a few sentences in the fourth to last)) seem to have have totally different writting style then the stuff written before three, I'm not totally sure what's up with that.

Do you have enough spare time for double the players is the true issue, though. You'd effectively be running two games at once.

Oh, they wouldn't both be running simultaneously. But it would mean if anyone dropped out there were replacements at a similar point. I could do training missions at a slower pace, maybe the odd investigation or the like, add some variety. Maybe even add some tactical decisions or covert missions or something. On the other hand, maybe I've just been playing too much XCOM recently. We shall see.

Now, to make the post a touch more interesting

Worth noting that all of this may be subject to change :P

I think weight carried should be based on strength.

Weapons could have a level of unwieldyness. It would be hard to carry several antitank rifles because they are awkwardly large. Even if you have the strength requirement to hold multiple of them.

Whilst that would make sense, it would be somewhat awkward to balance, and become rapidly irrelevant to all but the weakest players as attunement increased.

The word weight may be somewhat misleading however, due to the fact it's more a points system to prevent the hauling around of multiple miniguns :P

That's what Unwieldyness is for. They could in theory /carry/ that much. But without access to Hammerspace or extra limbs. They aren't gonna fit it all in their arms.

I think just a simple weight system is fine,I don't think you need to simulate every bandolier and strap on our weapons. The difference is pretty much meaningless anyway.
