Beginning trait: Bjarke can – and, if unsupervised, certainly will – create a small orb of fire from his hands, and even send it away short distances.
Description: Towering at close to 2.30 meters of height, additionally born with a broad built to match, Bjarke is far from being sublime. His stature is made even more imposing with his bulging muscles, and his once long, auburn beard and hair, which both reached beyond his chest.
Nowadays, he is kept bald, shaved daily. Even eyebrows and lashes, nose-hairs – all of it is periodically disposed of by the nurses. They know he would just pluck it himself, trying to start another fire.
Speaking of Fire - Bjarke is enamoured by it. He loves its warmth. The shine. Its flickering. The sounds it makes. The smell. How the burn slowly eats through its source.
The glow of metal? Beautiful. Fireworks? Enchanting. Explosives? Exhilarating.
Branded as a showcase pyromaniac with practically no chance of successful treatment, the last five years of clinical treatment did not do much to change Bjarke's compulsive disorder.
Having said that, while prosecution and media would have portrayed otherwise, he is not a sadistic sociopath. He is "just" a psychopath, and the satisfaction he gained from setting those fires just didn't hold a big enough candle against what sympathy he might have mustered for the inhabitants of the buildings he set as his target. Bjarke just had way too much of a good time watching the flames.
When not currently in a manic phase, or after the ecstasy of having seen a satisfactory fire has ebbed of, he is actually quite calm and collected. Not that he has seen any satisfactory fires in these last years, but still.
Backstory:Born in one of the arguably most boring stretches of land around, Bjarke actually showed symptoms of pyromania since the beginning of his teenage years. Faced with his enthusiastic pursuit of everything related to fire, it was no wonder that his academic results were good enough to study at the technical university of denmark. Why none of the safeties in place sounded an alarm, and he successfully achieved a degree as pyrotechnist was a matter of thorough investigations afterwards.
In the years to come his obsession took further hold of him, but for the longest time authorities were not able to place him as an arsonist, his crimes limited to a small scale. Once he set his mind to greater goals though, he was captured after the third high-rise building, caught multiple times on hidden CCTV's. Years later, it was also the same way other authorities found out about his ability, which he had reached out to and developed during his sentence.
Needless to say, the prospect of being ordered to do what Bjarke wants to do, is a great motivator to him, and preliminary testing has shown him to be remarkably cooperative. Minus his urging requests to be handed a flame-thrower or explosives, that is.
