It's the Shinto vs. Buddhism vs. Taoism war, except they now shoot actual bullets. But that's okay because the youkai can handle it, the Taoists are immortal and both humans have plot armor. Also, Kokoro uses a flamethrower sometimes.

Manor appears in Gensyoko, horrifying abomiations coming from this place and attacking people, incident starts, etc, etc.

You get to lead the (quite numerous) cast through one of five locales in an old, decrepit mansion which has had a whole load of horrifying monsters coming through it.
Four-person teams of Touhou characters will embark on quests that will, if you are careless, uncaring, or simply unfortunate, cost them their peace of mind, their sanity, and ultimately their lives.
The cast fights hostile humans, feral youkai, and of course, the various eldritch abominations the manor holds in an attempt to resolve this incident.

Alternatively:

A shoot-em-up with lots of horror and mind screw elements in it, including a set of new characters, hostile eldritch abominations that may or may not have to be permenantly killed in order to resolve the incident.

Cities Skylines and Grand Theft Auto. Switch between two characters: An urban planner, empowered to do just about anything to turn the city around (like the guy who poisoned Flint Michigan) and an important member of the local crime scene. In addition to your usual goals in city builders and freeworld crime simulators, when playing as the city developer you want to inconvenience the enemy gang, and when playing as the gangster you want to remove political rivals and remove impediments to the rapid development of urban infrastructure. Missions in gangster mode generate at buildings that you place in bureaucrat mode, eminent domain works much more cheaply if you choose to bang some heads together first, missions play off of each other, and most importantly:
You get to drive (at high speeds) in the ludicrous interchanges that you designed and built yourself.

Bullets that enemies fire can be dodged. They don't just have a chance to miss you, they can be actively dodged. It's still pretty difficult, though.

Aside from that, the game is still about rewiring things and punching people.

Team Fortress 2 and Risk of Rain.

RED and BLU get stranded on a deadly planet after the spaceship they were fighting on crashes, and team up to survive.

Players can get new items from either purchasing them from chests and other items, defeating bosses, or even randomly dropping items.

Several of the hats make an appearance as new items.

The weapons make appearances as new items.

More robots and enemies.

New Classes/Characters and abilities.
Scout - Scattergun, Baseball and Bat, Bat Swing, Bonk! Atomic Punch

Soldier - Rocket Launcher, Shovel Strike, Rocket Jump, Rocket Salvo (AIR: Fires a salvo of rockets at a 45 degree angle downward. GROUND: Rocket Jumps, then fires a salvo of rockets at a 45 degree angle downward)

Pyro - Flamethrower Spray, Flare Gun, Airblast, MMMPH (Phlogstinator Style)

Demoman - Sword, Grenade Launcher, Targe Charge, Stickybomb Launcher
