Hmm. I don't remember the last non-DF game I played.
With apologies if this derails the thread, is Unreal World a Finnish medieval game?
In any event, any European medieval place would have saunas.
Unreal World is a survival game set in iron age Finland.
Lifeweb is a SS13 remake that is basically first person dwarf fortress mixed with cyberpunk and terrible misery and sadness and other bad sexual themes.
Wait what, no seriously wh
* Rolan7 has encountered a critical exception
I mean, ew, first person? But other than that it sounds like my perfect game.
Lifeweb isn’t first person, it’s an ss13 fork gone horribly wrong. zoomed out topdown third person is the name of the game
Yes, by first person I meant you control an individual character rather than a fortress. It is top down. It is very,
very hard to get in to and enjoy. The learning curve of lifeweb makes DF seem like a road bump, whereas Lifweb would be a vertical 1000ft cliff. The community is also pretty unhelpful.
However, once you do get the basics down and learn how fortress life works, you can experience some of the deepest and most immersive story possible in an emergent game. Despite there being almost no rules almost everyone stays in character and doesn't grief. Besides it being very difficult to grief, even if you know how. Er, but this is a bit off topic. Just wanted to throw a plug for lifeweb in for those that aren't uncomfortable with very dark and graphic themes and love deep and immersive emergent roleplaying. (It's on the level of HellMOO, basically, in graphic content)
