Crusader Kings 2 and Creeper World 3.
So... much... blobbing.  Having to fabricate terrain before I can conquer it.  Desperately trying to build infrastructure to survive massive amounts of braindead enemies.

Then the game becomes a tedious yet vindictive slog as you outblob the blob.

Let's see here... Super Smash Brothers and Pokémon... Ehh. That's already a thing. So let's look further.

Pokémon and King of Dragon Pass. That... Actually intrigues me. It's a game about running a village of barbarian Pokémon Trainers as they attempt to settle a new life in Dragonite Pass... That's actually a wonderful idea and I kind of want to use it somehow.

Crusader's Quest and Angry Birds Epic. (Tablet at a hotel while traveling...)

Pixel-art live turn-based RPG where you can recruit birds whose effects vary based on their maturity and type. Each bird would have a defensive and offensive effect that got more powerful if you used the same one consecutively. Stages are largely repetitive, but include a pseudo-puzzle element where encounters can be trivialized with a priori knowledge of the encounter, so you can build to counter it. Plot involves eggs being stolen to corrupt them, in a misguided attempt to... stabilize the egg market and prevent birds from dying out?

Also, IAP hell, but can be mitigated with friend-spamming. (Thankfully, it includes a handy built-in option to find people who are already playing the game, so you have the option of spamming strangers who are already playing, if you lack friends.)

Skyrim and Starmade
Skymade; the dragonborn makes a spaceship out of cubes and cruises the galaxy killing cube dragons and absorbing their souls to power his onboard yelling laser.

It is terrifying.

Persona 3 Portable and League of Legends

Doesn't really seem like there are enough characters in P3P, even with both MCs, to make a full 5v5 MOBA but I'd still play it.
Actually, if we include Ken there'd probably be a reasonable amount ^_^

Mega Man X2 and Mega Man X3

Possibly another Mega Man Game.


Though technically:
Mega Man X3 and Battle Clash 2: Metal Combat

A pretty kickass shooter where you inherit the abilities of your enemies as you nuke them with your ST. As if your ST isn't broken enough (Especially the Tornado). Now I can absorb the shots of my enemy with my shield, and fire back a cluster of shots, amplified with my own already accumulated power (After victory against the ST Cobra). A successful 1-shot kill, without need of the V-System. Oh, and Sigma's behind the Eltorian attack on Earth.

Postal 2 and Back to Bed...

In Postal to Bed the sleepwalker from Back to Bed has to murder several civilians in his sleep in each level in order to get full points :P

Dwarf Fortress and Napoleon: Total War.

I'm imaging dwarf fortress with all of the graphics of the newer total war games, making the battles look awesome.
