You put your jacket and feel less cold and numb. You put your bag back on and begin climbing up the ladder. Once into the platform you can feel a noticeable breeze at the hight.
You notice two small (about the size of your messenger bag) burlap sacks, some cooking equipment, and two telescopes set up on the side rails of the platform.
Looking out from the edges of the platform you get a good look at the island, there is a volcano at the opposite end with farming fields around the base of the mound, woods to the west of that taking up most of the island, more farm looking area in the middle, a dock to the north east, and a city with a large building in the center to the east. You are south and the volcano is north.

Inside the sacks you find dried foods, bread, some rice, and sealed emergency meals.
Whatever might have been on the platform has been washed away by the recent storm
(There is a tarp over the platform but opened sides, the insides of the burlap sacks are lined with plastic)

Look at the city with the telescope

You move your attention to the telescopes.
The weaker one is pointed towards the docks and the stronger one is pointed to the sky. It is day so you can't tell what they were trying to look for.
You look through the weak one.
The dark yard is filled with rusting and falling apart ships, mostly old small personal fishing ships and one broken down large container ship that is on its side against the shore. There is a strange, almost too clean shack that glimmers white, it sits a few hundred meters away from the empty docks. there is a slightly falling apart pier jutting out into the docks and extends into the open water.
You swivel the telescope with a loud screech of rusted metal and not oiled gears. You view the city in its gloomy entirety.
There seems to be a hospital? in the middle of the city. The surrounding area consists of run down small apartments, open market areas, and torn apart shanties on the outskirts.

Everywhere seems desolate, you think you see a shadow or two moving in some places but you can't tell.
