Magma Workshops?

Like Magma Forges and Magma Brick Ovens and such... how do I get them to work? I can't build them on top of holes above lava like in vanilla, and digging holes to lava next to them doesn't seem to work either. What does "below one of the 8 boundary tiles" mean?

Never mind, I got it to work... as I originally thought, I just needed a magma hole under any of the workshop blocks other than the center. No idea why it didn't work the first time I tried.

All of magma workshops must have their central tile on top of floor, even in vanilla! ;)

Yes, that's a strange leftover from the vanilla workshops even if we can define any work location.
