((Actually, can you put another arrow-shaped stone in the square slot? And does the caret have to be above something to pick it up?))
Yes, square slot accepts everything that fits. No, you can slide whatever stones whenever, they're not really restricted to vertical movement, It's a symbol.

((That looks way too easy then. I must be getting something wrong.))

Well, post your solution then. Note that the rule applies still while several of the tiles are on the ferry but still in the vicinity of one of the banks.

Hmm, I'll edit in my solution within this post if I manage interpret the puzzle right in my head.

EDIT: Now if I got this right or wrong goes beyond me, this is just what I THINK what it is. I assigned each of the bottom symbol things a number and designated a place for that symbol to go to by putting it's number in the empty space. Beware, I am terrible at puzzles.

Heh, Kassire, the trick is not in what order they stand; the trick is how you move them.

Hm, seeing as the solution search hit full stop, I propose that (since you've rolled a crit, you lucky bastards) Cogi will show the solution for... a certain penalty.

I probably should lock that.
Well, this was short-lived. Apparently puzzles are a bad idea.

Perhaps with people with more puzzle aptitude. I could envision that being in perhaps a video game, not as much on a forum game.

Yeah, I have no skill at puzzles.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
You meddle around a bit with the stones, but seems like you don't quite have the grasp of the rules.
Cogi watches, smiling.
"Let me handle it."
Spoiler: Solution (click to show/hide)
The door emits a low-pitch noise as the last stone slides into its place. Then, one of the stones slides into the ground, opening something like a cat hole – only big enough for you to pass crouching.
Perception→Success.
Behind the hole, you see something like a narrow, but high corridor. It seems like only two may pass shoulder to shoulder.
Who will be the first row?
Cogi looks really smug after solving a puzzle. Looks like you'll be having trouble with him.

I guess Halpalo, as the toughest, should go first. Cogi can follow behind her to examine anything.
"Why did anyone decide that should be a lock? What was wrong with a key?"

You carefully enter the area, with Cogi following shortly behind. After a brief moment of hesitation, Setta follows. The girl slithers in the last.
You trigger a mechanism!
The cathole shuts behind you quickly. The area lights up.
You are in a narrow corridor leading up to the round room. You see a turn left slightly ahead.
A voice booms from above:
WELCOME TO YOUR DUTY, WARDENS.
There seems to be no immediate threat, so you scout ahead.
The tunnel to the left appears to be going alongside The Wall. The roof is cracked, and the old water and mud cover the floor alongside this lengthy path. You don't see where it ends, and the lights seem to be flickering, having completely failed far ahead.
The hall ahead is well-lit and dry. You find there some closets, a big old machine that takes up the most of the left wall, and some armaments that appear to be dropped in haste.
Spoiler: Short Party List (click to show/hide)
Armaments Salvaged
Lowly Fireslinger: 1d4 ranged fire damage. Most thaumaturges take it as an insult upon their art to project simple, repetitive spells, but war artificers are more practical.
This gun requires inflammable matter to function correctly.
Lowly Shield of Warding: 1d2 block, +1 Protection while blocking with this shield. Intricate weavings of orichalcum are touched with time, but aren't much less effective at nullifying the arcane.
Common Lantern of Brass: +50m light. The darker the night, the brighter the brass.
Lowly Medical Kit (3): heal 30% health to target. It's dated, but still good, if you believe the expiration marking.
This kit requires considerable time to use correctly.

What will you do?

Give Cogi the Lowly Fireslinger, Hala the shield, Settumas the lantern, and give Halpalo, Hala, and Setta the kits
