Combat Proficiency/Block I: you're gonna need a bigger sword.
Blood Rites/Wound I: please, let it all out.
Weapon: Common Sword of Resistance (1d6 physical): stops bleeding on wielder when the blow connects. These swords were invented by Resistance to fight the Brotherhood of Blood. So many were produced that they're a stock weapon now.
Shield: Lowly Buckler (1d2 block): allows for counter-attacks.
Inventory:
Exosuit: +1 Agi when guarding or blocking. This suit ehnances physical capabilities of its wearer slightly above average.

Chapter I: approaching The Wall

"And here," -- the guide's voice is muffled in this wasteland covered by sparse patches of yellow grass -- "my dear group, we have The Wall. It was built many cycles ago, at the dusk of the Age of Unneeded Tears. After devastating wars that tore these land apart, came reunions across the globe, and the multinational project was launched to build this wall, separating light from shadow, to protect inhabitants of the Rim from..."
You cannot be bothered to listen to this boredom-induced tale. Your name is Settumas Latto, and you have dubbed in one of the most exciting and dangerous parts of Thaumaturgy, namely Chaos Magic. Unfortunately, after an incident involving spontaneous splash of boiling acid, you were forced to quickly change your position and continue to do so once in a while, lest the enforces from your homeland catch up to you.
When your chase forced you towards the Rim, the cursed land of shepherds and no central heating, you decided to take the opportunity and hop onto the tourist bus to see the part of The Wall where, rumors say, it is breached the most. Behind the Wall, you seek absolute chaotic power that was once beheld by the mysterious civilization living in Shadow -- or so the rumor goes.
You are not exactly well-dressed, and have no money after the guide took last from you. In your pocket rests Thauma Driver.
To your north, there's a road nearby that probably leads to some sort of settlement.
To your west, there's The Wall, partially ruined, with several pillars crashed onto the ground.
To your south, there stands the guide with the rest of the group.
To your east, there's a wasteland.
What will you do?

Unfortunately, it seems like you missed a big chunk of it, and the guide has moved on to describe local fauna.
As you probably know, practically the only big predator that lives on the Rim is night's owl, which tends to prey in Shadow. However, since the area had thawed, there have been traces of other small predators, including claw cats, silverheads and other creatures mostly common in warmer areas. They don't have a lot of prey around here, so it's unclear how...
AUGH THIS IS BORING
You briefly consider playing a trick on one of the clueless tourists just to entertain yourself.

That probably means they've caught up to you. The Wall can wait: you need to prepare for fight!
Your opponent haven't noticed you yet, which gives you the Preparation bonus to all rolls against them until they finally spot you.
Your Thauma Driver jumps into your hand. You are ready for some serious tinkering.
To your north, there's a fleeing path in case things go awry.
To your west, there's The Wall. You know, if you want to bang your head on it.
To your south, there's the enemy surrounded by distractions.
To your east, there's an open space. Not a brilliant direction, if bullets be flying.
