Would it actually be possible to wake up more people?

I feel like we should research this thing because we need to know if the problem extends to the ARK cryo systems as well.  If it does then we are royally screwed.

A, I think.  Though if we learn that the problem is severe, the morale hit could be catastrophic...

+1. We need to find out what is going on with the cryo systems.

Anyone got an idea for how to convince people back in?  We need at least 7 to head back inside.

My ideas are have everyone agree to a fair lottery (excluding any specialists who can get the cryo pod mystery solved) or just plain tell them that this is what they signed up for, we knew the pods were experimental, we have lots of medical supplies to treat them.

Maybe have our leader volunteer to go back in first.

This might all be my fault:

Cryogenic pods Mk II (2 of em if we can make both at once)

Cryogenic Pods Mk II*2 [Hidden Roll]

or in short:
A+D, who's in will be decided by lottery.

No, sounds like they have the best option covered, so I can only give my +1

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

Next turn might take a while. As it includes planet selection, so, question time.

More/Less description?
More/Less Guidance
Misc rewards?

I think you're fine with the descriptions, and we've been able to muddle along just okay right now, so more guidance isn't really needed. I'll say yes to misc rewards though :P

In terms of guidance, a quick overview of what we need would be appreciated, the planet selection is kinda a major choice with no take backs.

Update 10
January 2084. Nearing Epsilon Eridani

Quote
Event selection :

   - A : Investigate the cause of the aberration (time consuming)

Your crew leader is currently awake.

Repair Damage Damage control [0.3 normal parts]

Write in : Lottery

Event resolution : Option A Project Unlocked : Cryo System Investigation (-40)

Write in resolution : 88

The decision is taken to fully investigate the cryosystem, in order to find and be able to resolve this problem at it's root. After all, the entire fate of the Outpost and Ark mission rests upon this technology, and while we're not in the position to warn the Ark, or inform it of a solution if it turns out that it too is affected, knowing how to resolve the problem will still be essential. Data is transferred to the medical lab, and work can soon commence. Nevertheless, the cryo system is very complex and finding a solution with the limited equipment on board would justly be considered a miracle...

2080-2084

Crew: ( 99 - 15 (crowding) - 5 (unresolved cryo problems) + 5 Recreational commons + 10 (Leader) + 5 Medical Bay - 8 (morale modifier)) = 91 +3 morale modifier
Ship: (80 - 20 (base unreliability) + 14 (crew) + 5 (Damage Control) - 5 (Leader)  + 12 (maintenance modifier) = 86 (+1 maintenance modifier)
Actions :
    - Cryo System Investigation : 61-40 = 21 No progress

As expected, though the crew performs hard work, it is incapable of finding any problems with the cryonic equipment. Nevertheless, the effort seems to pay of well for crew morale and ship maintenance. While , because of a shortage of time, the planned third maintenance shut down and overhaul of the ship is never executed, it turns out not to be needed. While many parts are pushing against their maximum intended lifetime (40 years FYI), degradation seems to be less than initially expected, and everything is functioning normally, for now.

The Discovery slowly closes in on it's destination. In the distance, Epsilon Eridani becomes more and more pronounced compared to the other stars. Optic sensors start gathering data, at first, the resolution is so low that is hard to even find the planets long ago confirmed by giant telescopes on Earth. As you pass the Heliosheat and termination shock, effective resolution gradually increases, giving you a look of what will soon be your new home.

Star:
Epsilon is a K2V class star, significantly smaller and less massive than Sol. It's low luminosity (34% of the solar luminosity) means that the habitable zone is much closer to the star than it was in the solar system. Due to it's relative youth (roughly 950 million years), Epsilon Eridani exhibits strong magnetic fields and a result the stellar wind is nearly 30 times stronger than that of sol.

Star System:

As a total, the system contains 6 planets and 2 asteroid fields.

Eridani-I

At a distance of only 0.2 AU, this small planet (slightly smaller than Mercury) is located to close to the star to be considered habitable. Despite it's strong magnetic fields, the powerful solar wind and it's small gravity have resulted that it could only maintain a thin atmosphere (0.2 atm), composed mainly of argon, though with traces of oxygen and hydrogen. This thin atmosphere results in dramatic temperature variations, ranging from 550 Kelvin in the sun, and as low as 150 Kelvin on the planet's dark side.

The planet's high density and strong magnetic field indicate the presence of a large and iron rich core, and perhaps a metallic crust as well. In addition, formation of water ice in perpetually dark craters is suspected, but could not be confirmed.

Eridani-II

Despite it's location centrally within Epsilon Eridani's habitable area at a distance of 0.75 AU, this planet does not appear very habitable at all. It's mainly carbon dioxide atmosphere is too thin to support liquid surface water. At a pressure of a mere 0.05% atm, thinner even than the atmosphere of Mars, it might as well not be there at all. Assumptions are that despite the planet's size (slightly larger than Earth) , the solar wind stripped it clean. Various asteroid craters mark the planet's surface, though no volcanic activity of note was picked up by sensors. Like Eridani-I, the thin atmosphere results in vast temperature fluctuations, though significantly less extreme than there, with temperatures ranging from 300 Kelvin to 180 Kelvin. Water ice is suspected, but once again could not be confirmed.

A small moon is present, presumable a captured asteroid.

Eridani-III

The close proximity to Eridani's asteroid belt has left it's mark on this planet (orbit 2.5 AU). A relatively recent impact has clearly cracked the crust of this average sized planet (0.9 earth mass). Strong volcanic activity, perhaps a result of the impact,  has resulted in a dense atmosphere approaching 0.5 atm, created mostly off carbon dioxide and -monoxide, xenon, argon, and vulcanic sulfur-compounds. Water ice has been confirmed to exist on the planet's poles, which are significantly colder than the average 250 Kelvin temperature.

Interestingly this planet has not one but two moons. A large moon, slightly smaller than Earth's, with a smaller companion in it's Lagrange point. Since this position is not entirely stable, it's expected that the two will eventually collide.

Asteroid Field-I

A low density asteroid field at a distance of 3 AU from the star. Estimates assume that it is only contain half as much mass as the one between Mars and Jupiter in the sol system.

Eridani-IV

At a distance of 4 AU from the star, this large planet (1.4 earth masses) has managed to accumulate a decent atmosphere (0.7 atm) composed primarily out of CoČ,Noble Gasses, and sulphuric compounds. Despite this and it's significant volcanic activity, it is extremely cold due to it's distance from the star. Water ice has been confirmed to exist in small patches on the planet.

No moons are present.

Eridani-V

A gas giant, about 50% larger than Jupiter located at a distance of 6 AU from the star.

It's has several moons, but none particularly remarkable.

Asteroid Field-II

Located at a distance of 20 AU,  this asteroid field is significantly denser than the inner asteroid field. A few larger planetoids have been spotted, but otherwise there's nothing to note.

Eridani-VI

At a distance of more than 40 AU, it's a bit of a mystery how this moderately sized (0.7 Jovian masses) gas giant could have formed so far from the star it is orbiting. Current theories estimate that it formed at a much closer distance (approx 10 AU) and migrated outwards due to gravitational interactions with the dust disk or other planets within the system. Otherwise, it's a completely unremarkable gas giant.

It has a few small icy moons.
