The Whiteboard
Jim Groovester: Cheeetar, zombie urist
Tiruin: Deus Asmoth, Scripten, Toaster
UXLZ: Persus13

Day ends ~4pm Pacific Thursday

Meph: Are players who are killed told who did the killing? I thought I remembered the flavor being relatively ambiguous in the last Paranormal I read.
Generally not. It depends on the situation, though. If the knowledge is something that will be revealed the next day anyway, (such as a War Vet and Vig killing each other off) I will often include it in the flavor. But if there is any ambiguity as to what happened, it is not revealed.

Jim, why are you pushing for the lynch of players without night actions?

I think the night actions are better spent verifying roles and night actions and limiting the source of the nightkill to as few candidates as possible. Lynching one of the people without night actions further limits that source.

And that it's very unlikely that people without a night action are doppelgangers (night 1, dopp guard making kill) doesn't make you think we should perhaps not start lynching people without night actions?

The only problem I can see with focusing on those who've already claimed night actions is the possibility that Toaster or Scripten are fakeclaiming. UXLZ clearly isn't, and I don't think I'm lying about my role. Scripten is very easy to confirm. If we do have to lynch a non-night action person, I'd prefer it were Toaster.

So... it's entirely possible that someone killed Toonyman, but Mastahcheese took the bullet for them when they fired back.

UXLZ, could you see if Toonyman could pull up his flavor PM and maybe give us an idea of what happened? I'm suddenly worried about Jim...

IIRC, last time we checked from ToonyMan he said there were 3 people he fired at. We narrowed it down to Flabort, MC, and Pisskop.

Pisskop is town. His words are truth UNLESS SOMEHOW HE LIED.
Flabort is town and its obvious he targeted Toony BECAUSE OF THE BULLET WOUND.
Mastahcheese is bullets. So nyan.

Basically, what I'm saying is: for some reason, you're somehow missing the reasoning that points at extremely plausible evidence, over just plausible evidence. >_>

What are you trying to say? I wasn't saying that MC was guarding Toonyman. I was saying that he was potentially guarding another dopp who performed the kill. I've quoted the death scene below, with the dopp kill flavor bolded.

Quote
ToonyMan is face up on the floor, multiple slash wounds across his chest and throat. He also has what looks like a gunshot wound to the hip. The War Vet is dressed in fatigues, and you can see his rifle nearby.

Face down on the floor is a doppelganger. Faceless but for a grinning maw of sharp teeth, you can't tell who it was pretending to be. It has a gunshot wound to the chest, though. And mastacheese's wallet in its pocket. Inside you find a scrawled bit of paper describing his duties as some sort of Observant Guard, though it looks like he was an aggressor here.

You take off the mask on the third body, slumped in a kitchen chair. flabort, with a rifle down on the floor beside him as well. Looks like he was indeed a vigilante as he'd claimed. Took on the wrong man, though, from the looks of it.

Orange bit is what concerns me. This isn't a bastard game, so none of the flavor is intentionally misleading, but I do wonder whether the "it looks like" bit is important.

ALSO.

Can you please respond to my question below? I've asked it several times now and I know you're online. It's also a very short answer I'm asking for, so it shouldn't bother your net much.

Can you take another look at Toaster and Zombie Urist and tell me what you think of them? Doesn't have to be long. In fact, I'd prefer brevity.

Cheeetar:

IIRC, last time we checked from ToonyMan he said there were 3 people he fired at. We narrowed it down to Flabort, MC, and Pisskop.

So it's entirely possible that Jim's claim was him going there for the NK and covering for it by claiming to follow MC. After all, he may have fired at three people, but one of them was guarding another.

I might be wrong, but the thought keeps lingering.

And that it's very unlikely that people without a night action are doppelgangers (night 1, dopp guard making kill) doesn't make you think we should perhaps not start lynching people without night actions?

I don't think it's 'very unlikely'. If anything all it does is suggests that the dopp team all have night actions, but is that a suggestion that can be reliably counted on? No.

The people with night actions can be accounted for a lot easier than the people without them, but there's not enough actions to make sure everybody's doing what they're supposed to and expected to. Something's got to give, and the plan I came up with emphasizes verifying the actions of those with night actions over those without. So what can we do to mitigate the potential that somebody without a night action is running around performing the night kill completely unaccounted for? We can lynch the likeliest suspect from that group.

That's the reasoning.

So it's entirely possible that Jim's claim was him going there for the NK and covering for it by claiming to follow MC. After all, he may have fired at three people, but one of them was guarding another.

That's not possible. NQT inspected me as Find on N1, ergo I was not performing the kill N1.

I've PM'd Toony about his flavor, so time will tell if he responds.

So, from a purely information gathering stance, I'd go with Tiruin or zombie urist as the lynch for today.

I'll definitely be voting for Tiruin if she keeps sidestepping Scripten's questions, but can you explain what info we'd get from their flip?

Scripten:

Truth be told, I find that hella unlikely. I think it's phrased like that due to the style of writing.
Think of it this way: We know two people that Toony definitely shot at: Flabort and Deus.
We know he shot at one other person. Now, do you really think the flavor of MC guarding someone who's attacking Toony would be written with Toony never attacking the person who's actually going after him? I just can't see it.

Jim:

I'll try and post more once I'm at school, but for now.

Spoiler: NQT (click to show/hide)

Since the hole you punched in the assertion was more a sort of pin-prick, do you have anything further to say in regards to this?
By the way, you're saying to lynch Toaster, or Cheeetar, or me, but who do you actually suspect?

sigh

No, not really.

I wouldn't count anybody from the list of people with no night actions out for being scum.

By the way, you're saying to lynch Toaster, or Cheeetar, or me, but who do you actually suspect?

I'm thinking Toaster and zombie urist are scum, and I don't really have reasons for thinking that other than gut feeling and that their games have been quiet. Shakerag isn't making splashes today either and it feels like he's making token efforts to activity. You haven't shown much original opinion today, but the read is less strong.

I'm leaning toward Cheeetar and Deus Asmoth being town. I have a weaker town read on Scripten and Persus13.

Tiruin I am undecided about.

Generally in a mass claim situation I read the people who pipe up frequently about planning and actions and problems or whatever else as town, whereas the people who stay quieter I read as scum.

If you haven't responded to it fairly soon, it's taken far too long to be justifiable. Acknowledging a question's existence doesn't preclude you from actually having to answer it, and unless I'm missing something we've been waiting for your 'big post' for over a week now.

:v

I've made a narrowing list with NQT over PMs--I think he quoted it, I'm unsure given the slow speed, however I did note the lightheartedness of general people here that I can't, actually, narrow down who in the midst of 'Shakerag, ZU, Jim, Toaster' or those queries who you note back there as 'scummier over the other'; duality of thought pertains to seeing either/or in this case, and neither stands out.
It's all in the big post which I should really post soon enough but gahhhh <_<
Does this not show my honesty regarding the queries on the reads?

...Yeah. I did note this in D1 regarding the flavor. You can search the word 'plasma' in the forum searchengine.
I'm just making a confuzzled statement on WHY people are still thinking MC didn't kill Toony, because seeing that the DEAD show the truth--AND that pisskop says he acted on Toony (which doesn't seem to be something acknowledged by you or UXLZ due to the 'may' stance y'all got regarding that situation, in how I read it anyway), so the invariably obvious idea is that its the simplest one presented.

I mean, unless you're all poking DA--wherein its obvious he protected Pisskop (or he would be DEAD), then that may be a cause for thinking around the bush.
However, since we've seen a big indicator that MC's bloody corpse only has a GUNSHOT wound there. IF Flabort or ANY NON-CLAIMED Vig killed MC, that's something to know (or not, due to the Vigilante being important at this phase in game). HOWEVER, nobody else has any notice of this.

What I'm trying to say is 'Why are you all speculating on something OTHER than what was present? What am I missing? Do you have any added information for due speculation?'

My internet.
Also if you'd bring up that 'turn on WIFOM Fortress', know that I GOT MODKILLED THERE DESPITE DOING MY TURN IN FULL.
Especially when playing at a FPS speed I CANNOT EDIT which takes HOURS to do one bloody turn.
`
Guess how many hours was WASTED when doing that? :D I can count around 1 whole day of time wasted~

I warn you again of bringing up a trigger like that, Jim. Being a big ham may be your playstyle, but there are lines to not cross when using analogy in poking at current events.
