chat and switch to a pinned person, subsequentely panels open and close that way, but they're not stuck clicking any person shows it proper. here's a step by step movie

https://www.dropbox.com/s/bol787n9e80mmvy/test.mp4?dl=0

oh if you are intrested, clicking 'visit' on people allows you to enter otherwise closed places

also, is this supposed to happen?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Bunny gave me a mission to dig dirt, but telling that info to her is gonna hurt my reputation with her?

also a mission expired and I got money and completed message (I might have had the information but couldn't get it to the granpa in time? don't know)

edit: couple things more

hearing things panel doesn't get updated when people leaves. MISSING STRING is missing, and you can overhead people talking to themselves (but maybe that's intended)

sorry if it's annoying I'll stop, I've the kind of superpower of crashing things

edit: some quality of life stuff

tripleclicking on a destination should engage the ship autopilot there

story tab should auto update while chatting so you know when you hit dirty launcdry jackpot

Great - thanks - will fix.

I think that's acceptable - if you know someone you should be able to go to their location even if it's closed.

Yes, that's expected. Greyed out opinion changes mean that it'll affect someone else's opinion of you. I'll add a tooltip to make that more obvious.

This happens if grandpa found the information out some other way - if he commissioned you to find it, then you get rewarded in any case.

All good suggestions, thanks! It's never annoying and is most helpful! Others here might prefer we use a dedicated forum (such as steam forums) for this kind of detailed discussion though :)

Thanks again

For those of you who were interested in gameplay videos, I've just posted a talk-through of getting to know a new character on the Steam Store page (it's the second video in the list):

http://store.steampowered.com/app/396680

Honest feedback required please! does this help sell the game where plain screenshots aren't really cutting it? Or is it just annoying (hard to judge when it's your own voice!)

sure thing!

but these are _opinions_ so feel free to ignore everything I say I'm not be salty, promise :D

game is kind of boring from the outside. when you start you get dragged and play 4 hours straight because you're living a second life as a space adventurer/politician/wathever, but form the outside, it's meh. you're already talking in first person, so why not go full diary mode, fake up some motives for your characters, doesn't need to be in game. a generic storytelling introdcution. "Hi, I'm Mindy - you don't know me yet, but you will once I'll own half the Europe banks.' - and go on with short 'vines'. instead of showing your dad is in prison, go to prison, and 'blog it' - 'My father was inprisoned before I could get to him, I need to have the launch codes for his ship if I want my smuggling operation to set off' and off you go to the city and show navigating around.

make it a film, when you narrate what and why make it part of the story, instead of a trip to some menu. you can get out of character every now and then to explain a game mechanic but needs to be clear. can you make voices? if you have a friend, let him do the narrator and drop in for the mechanics

on a side note, if you go first person plz use a male it's weird to have a voice dissonance

and why aren't you showing ships! go to dad, he's an ass, no ship, swear revenge. next two short sequences with you going to a bank, meeting with people, going to the bar, court the nice looking cashier, and the next day the option for a loan is there because 'she thinks you're loyal' or whatever. all narrated of course. there's the manual to navigate menus. make it cool! get a loan, get the ship, fly off for the first trade route, end.

on the sound side microphone needs some cleanup it clicks every now and then and it has some audible noise. also why the awesome game music is completely silent? not need to be prominent either but a backdrop to silence would be nice every now and then.

The narration is fine.

This addresses something that is really needed, which is a fundamental "what is this game about, and how do I play it" since most of the previous media has highlighted spaceship stuff.  Really, I think Brian Rubin's (Spacegamejunkie) videos went a long way to helping people understand what it is about, even though he was initially fairly critical.

It is good to see a simple, no-nonsense official video sort of showcasing how to play.

That said, I'm (as a viewer) left wondering why you're doing these things.  Okay, you've got some goals, you've got some bad parents... but what exactly do you intend to do to realize those goals?  Why are you talking to this woman and trying to get on her good side?  What do you expect her to do for you?

More than that, what does it actually mean to be a successful business person?  Is that different in any way from being a free trader doing odd jobs?

Maybe after you describe the background, you could demonstrate traveling to a location.  "i want to become a successful business person, so I am going to try to make inroads at this corporation.  I see that Slappy Sally works there, so I'll try to get on her good side and maybe she'll help me with a business opportunity later"

Something to give a hint of the strategic direction of a career and let players know why you are making the choices you are.

I've just written a 1.2 development update, and put the game on sale for the first time since release.

It's currently 33% off on Steam for EGX: http://store.steampowered.com/app/396680

We've already had a bunch of different commodities added - that process is now much easier for people...
