I'm not sure what you define as direct combat-- all of the characters should be able to fight well enough. It's OW-- everyone can make with the shootings. And the stabbings. Different people just have different twists added onto the murdering.

A class built primarily for combat. All of us except me and Comrade who's a heavy are support classes and heavies fight more from a fixed position with good cover.

We all have guns and the ability to shoot them-- we can all fight. You do have something of an advantage because you ARE a stormtrooper, but we're capable mixing it up too.
Heck, Amalia's powers are assigned to be up there fighting with her weapons.

Who would you put with me to be out ahead of everyone else? We've got 4 people in the 2 Chimera's and Comrade on foot but in a good piece of cover to use his heavy weapon.

I'm more then happy to take a couple of others for a little assault unit but who would we put in for it? We've got A Comi, Psyker and Priest to choose from. The medic ideally should stay in the other Chimera where he's secure to use it's gun until he's needed.

I mean, we could have everyone but the operator/a gunner or two get out in fights, so an anti-vehicle weapon wouldn't just devastate everyone and so the few people out of the Chimera would be much more difficult to overwhelm.

Plus, having two chimeras is something of an assumption, and would likely result in the enemies being able to deal with them.

Even so, and if we're going to carry all of us and the comrades plus spare ammo and weapons we'll need 2.

Who would we put in an assault squad with me? If we had another stormie or a sergeant or weapon specialist I'd be a lot more confident in making an assault force.

Remember we are not part of an armored fighting regiment. Either everyone is atop/inside the Chimera for rapid transport/escape or we are carefully moving around to try and scout the area ahead, not necessarily inside the armored fighting vehicle. And remember everyone can fight. The lasgun from an operator causes as much damage as a psyker's and Standard Attack plus Half-Aim means 20 to your BS Test.

And the person in charge (either my Commissar or whoever applies as a Sergeant) will decide on assault teams and whatnot when the game starts and a situation when such is needed pops up.

In all honesty, this is kinda irrelevant until we know what's going on... we don't have an inkling of knowledge about anything right now, so we can't even come close to deciding these things yet.

I guess, I'd still like to see a sergeant or a second stormie join though. I'd be a lot more comfortable with some more muscle in the squad.

I'd like to see some normal Weapon Specialists, myself.

Works for me, any of those 3 classes would be good. Somebody who's a bit more heavily armed then the cluster of officers we have at the moment.

We currently have three people in one chimera... A commissar, a operator, and the operator's comrade...

Well Avis already said 2 squads and 2 Chimera is ok. So that increases the number. Even with just 1 though what teams would we divide into?

Commisar and two PCs, with a team of two singles. That was with three comisars, instead, I suggest someone go as a sargent, then two subsquads of three players each, with you in the one with the sargent.

If we DO have two chimeras, nobody needs to ditch a comrade.
