And Aptitudes, if we get conquistadors it gives ballistic skill which I already have.

I get it now, reading it directly in the rulebook it made a lot more sense.

The rulebook says doubling on a skill gives you a new level of the skill (Dodge + Dodge = Dodge +10) and doubling talents gives you 100xp.

When you have a double in an aptitude like ballistic skill you pick another aptitude instead of it that is also a characteristic. Like perception. Not a +10.

Doubles of a skill you just gain the next level of it.
Double of a talent gives 100xp.

You can leave part of the extraneous equipment in the locker as long as it's properly maintained when any commissar checks on your gear. Remember to always have your Uplifting Primer with you, though. Talking of which, I think I'm going Commissar since there's a psyker app.
