Prisoners near Meeting Areas
« on: January 15, 2015, 02:08:55 am »

Hi there.  :)

During a siege, a couple of goblins got trapped by my cages outside. I brought them in and took their stuff, then I set their cages on the edge of a meeting area. I'm aware that many of you put your prisoners in pits for science various reasons or drop them near forgotten beasts lurking in the caverns, to name a couple.

My question is: If I just leave the prisoners at the meeting area, will the dwarves interact with them in any fashion? Will they trade insults? Will they casually chat? Nothing?

If a similar question has been discussed elsewhere, feel free to post a link to it.

It is kind of hard to believe that this all happened in a game.

If a room is designated from the cage, dwarves may occasionally throw party around it.

Invading enemies are treated like animals. Literally.

They are not worth to be treated as intelligent beings. ;)

Well, you still can't butcher them, but on the other hand, Reachers and Plump Helmet Men are treated as sentient despite their lack of any display of intelligence.

Build a hall for their cages and make a goblin zoo, your dwarves will love it.  ;D

Keep in mind, some dwarves detest/hate goblins - They will get unhappy thought, because They just see them... And some high empathy ones will be sad because humanoid is in cage (sentient creature or something like this, elvish dish names...).

In my fortress dwarves are dying from old age.
