Ignore Glennie for now, and keep searching our cabin for items.

You decide to handle the intruder later, she won't be going anywhere, after all...

First you need to make sure the cabin is still secure, and to collect whatever supplies are left, for the journey to town.

You find an old book in one of the bookshelves, AAA Guide 2020. A driving manual of some sort; you don't even remember when you picked it up. Or why.

You enter your bedroom and find the corner wall broken to bits. Shafts of sun stream through the gaping hole. You suspect the intruder did this...you turn back toward her, but something catches your eye:

Those weren't there before...

What do you do?

You quite literally just smash them with an object if you don't have a crowbar or other subsitutes

Walk over and open crates. (Do we need a tool to open crates?)

Your curiosity (and your short attention span) get the best of you and you simply must see what is inside those crates. You lope over to them, your axe in hand, and smash each of them in quick succession.

There are 5 crates total, the first 3 contain an assortment of military rations, the fourth contains a grenade of some kind and a fearsome looking explosive:

Nuclear tri-foils litter the latter, foretelling a grim power.

You put everything into your pack and move toward the 5th crate, a little north of the others. As you smash open the crate you hear some rustling coming from the south. You ignore it and examine the crate's contents:

Looks like some military gear; you reach in to grab it...and hear a low growl coming from behind you. You turn.

Before you, are the remains of a wolf twisted into un-death by forces you know not of. It foams at the mouth, black goo spilling from its half-destroyed tongue, coating its still white, and, you fear, still sharp, teeth:

What will you do?

Btw, anyone know an easier way to post screenshots here? Its getting quite tiresome to upload saved png's to photobucket then link them to here.

Pick up two by four, throw two by four at zolf, move NE 1 to stand behind young trees, and wait for wolf to be in axe range.

Pick up two by four, throw two by four at zolf, move NE 1 to stand behind young trees, and wait for wolf to be in axe range.

You pick a broken piece of crate and throw it with all your might:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The 2x4 bounces off the wolf's back, the blow blunted by the wind. The wolf seems unaffected, it draws closer to you and shatters the air with a howl. You back away behind some saplings and ready your axe. Slowly the wolf lumbers toward you; closer and closer...close enough to see its hollow eye-sockets and worm-eaten snout, close enough to smell it. Then, all at once, it is before you, within the reach of your axe...It leaps!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

There will be blood.

Beat the crap out of the wolf

Three strokes. That's all it takes.

The first goes deep into its chest, so deep it gets lodged. You quickly yank it free, blood spurts out from the wound, spilling onto your shirt. It tries, in vain, to bite your leg. You step back and slice at its neck, your axe nestles into its spine and you relish the sound of broken tendons. Again it tries to bite you, again you move aside, again you slice its neck. This time the blow is too much, the wolf's neck splits open and blood pools on the roots of the sapling. The wolf is dead, this time for good.

EDIT: That'll be all the updates for today, but feel free to put in suggestions. Also, feel free to give more long term suggestions (if you want longer updates).

4. Prevent Zombie Revival (debated this one, but decided revival is more annoying than interesting)
It's not really a thing but let's try it anyway, I think it trains survival...?

Open more crates

You look around to see if you missed any crates, but cannot find anything. Your hands begin to go numb from the winter wind, you think you saw a pair of gloves in that last crate...yes, you were right; thick winter gloves.

You put them on; they fit well enough. There are some other clothes, as well: two pairs of army pants, some sort of rigid, bullet-proof vest, a green military helmet, and a pair of glasses, the kind you might wear in a firing range.

You put on the helmet, but put the army pants and vest, in your pack. Its a little cold and...brambly, to be changing outside. You also put on the glasses, they shade your eyes from the sun's glare and are comfortable.

The wolf looks quite dead, but you give it a couple of good whacks just in case (I had to smash it, since I don't have anything that has the cutting quality; wood axe can't butcher apparently):

You walk back into your destroyed bedroom and change:

The army pants fit you perfectly, but the bulletproof vest is rigid and a bit too small. Nevertheless, the material seems tough and resistant, and you keep it on; you can always try to re-size it later.

Check our map location. Also a Mininuke on day 1, You lucky lucky human.

You find a satellite image of the surrounding area in one of the pockets of your army pants:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The picture shows the corner of a town to the southwest, as well as a gas station to the north. You knew this, of course, that's where you used to get your supplies. But there also seems to be an emergency camp to the east. Now that you think about it, that's probably where those crates were supposed to go. There could be more where that came from...but there could also be more undead.

The gas station should be safe; you might even find a working car there. Or you could make your way into the town and begin your destiny as the Lord's arm, smiting all you see.

And there is still the matter of the intruder...

What will you do?
