Naval Action

It's not the age of sail game I want, but it beats having to play Assassins Creed 4 just to faff around on the water.

This looks promising, I'm just hoping the sandbox mode gets fleshed out. Multiplayer with a game like this doesn't sound very interesting to me, and it's unfortunately common for innovative multiplayer games to dwindle in population fairly quickly, especially with a high barrier to entry like $40.

I saw that The Mighty Jingles had a mention of this in a video, as a rabid Patrick O'Brian fan, I, for one, am currently wishing I had the money for this... Also, I hope they get the signal flags acting accurately in future... Because why the hell not.

-Edit due to ninja-

A single player would be awesome. Because who dosent want to try to go up against a frigate in a small brig?

Yeah, this has me very excited.

Especially because, despite it allowing you to play in arcade-ish mode, you will be apparently be able to control yards individually to get the best out of your ship, perform faster tacking or wearing about, etc.

DF doesn't mold players into its image - DF merely selects those who were always ready for DF.

Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?

Just spent the last few days watching all of the Naval Action part of Youtube and getting progressively more excited. The preorders just reopened, and I got my copy. This must be like, one of the two or three games that I've paid full price for in the past decade or so.

They usually send keys every Friday, but because preorders were closed due to Paypal and the game has exploded in popularity on Youtube, they will be sending out keys every day.

Hello naval friends!

Have been playing this game for the past few days ever since I got the key. It is immensely playable and enjoyable. Currently there are only a bunch of ships that you play in PVP or PVE so that you can unlock the next ship. This means that every ship gets tested. The plans are to start adding open world tidbits soon (along with new ships), and keep going from there.

Here are the development plans for Winter 2015.
