Trouble should be down right one and up right one, according to the map. But it looks like we might not be able to get there from this direction because of the rubble, so we'll have to go around across the entire map basically.
Trouble should be down right and right from the larnoid spot, and we just went right, if I recall correctly. Perhaps we should open the map to clear up confusion, though.

Edit:
Oh, and there is light coming from under the rubble. Maybe there is a passage?

I made a theoretical map a little bit ago based on the rune in the cave. Here:

You try on the MATERIAL REALMS and cast LOOKING FOR TROUBLE

It looks like the TROUBLE has moved!
It's in the next room DOWNRIGHT!

You try on the FOCUSING CRYSTAL

It makes you feel focused

Its PRISMATIC RESONANT MANCITYPE is
incompatible with your META INTRINSIC MANCITYPE

Huh. The focusing crystal is not a hat?

For achievement purposes I mean.

Anyway, let's cast REMANCITYPE again and see what spelling it produces.

We don't want to use up all our MANCERTUDE though. At least until we figure out how to replenish our stats. I vote we examine the light/go through to the trouble!

Obviously, based on previous evidence and massive amounts of guesswork, the trouble we are looking for must be the injured Gnarly Catslug!
So it either must be injured and easily defeated, or in a be severe berserker rage capable of tearing us apart with it's eyelids! Either way, it's a plus!

Your MANCERITUDE is recharging at a fairly
decent rate now that you're not CONFUSED

Anyway, you can't fit through DOWNRIGHT,
but you can PEEK into the next room

You can hear it purring

Perhaps we should not call out to the thing happily sitting next to a pool of blood. At least not yet.

I vote we go back through the cave.

Let's not attract the thing labelled trouble next to the pool of blood. It's probably eaten some poor soul.

Perhaps we should not call out to the thing happily sitting next to a pool of blood. At least not yet.

I vote we go back through the cave.
