Turn 2Without further guidance from their commander, the legionnaires stick to their formation and let the beastmen come to them.
GregoryImpassively, you continue your onslaught, every strike of your flail spreading pain and death. Seeing you as a bigger threat the beastmen begun to swarm you. One managed to land a hit with its club which glanced off your armour. Suddenly the beastman immediately in front of you was lifted off the ground by a powerful strike from a hammer. Your gaze settled on a large man with brutish features wearing legionnaire armour. You must have reconnected with one of yours, or rather the other way around.
Outcome: Success (+1)
Status: 2/2/0/1 Feared
KaladinStill at the vanguard, you shout words of encouragement and begin to direct the troops. LEADER + High roll : You are a natural! Under your command the legionnaires begin to rout the enemy. Your involvement does not go unnoticed and the beastmen begin to to concentrate their attack where you are, probably in the hopes of killing the leader, you.
Their onslaught, while ferocious, was no match to the discipline displayed by the legion and they were pushed back, you killed one yourself. Alas you had no time to celebrate your success, a thick-shafted arrow struck your shoulder with such force that it knocked your off your feet. The last thing you saw before darkness consumed your vision was the blue sky above.
Outcome: Success(ish) (+2 due to LEADER)
Status: 2/1/0/1 Unconscious (No action in turn 3)
OxAs much as they tried to swarm you, there was no containing you. Your hammer arcing around you with a savage grace, you sent them back to their unholy maker. Your bloody path, paved with broken bones, led you back to your fellow legionnaires. After knocking a beastman off it's hooves you ended up face to face with a tall legionnaire holding a bloody flail. His serene gaze met yours.
Outcome: Success (+1)
Status: 2/0/3/3 Feared
EverettYour bolts fly true, downing a beastman before it even connected to the battle formation. OBSERVANT: You notice another bull-like beastman drawing an obscenely large bow, quickly estimating where he is aiming you assume it to be the legionnaire gesturing as if giving orders. You shoulder your crossbow and fire, while your bolt hits the beastman, it does not stop it from loosing the arrow and you see the legionnaire collapse. Your best hope is that the way it flinched when your bolt hit it affected the beastman's aim.
Outcome: Success (+1)
Status: 2/1/1/2
RufusYou look on, watching the main battle unfold. While the beastmen charge was mighty, it broke under the combined effort of the legionnaires. OBSERVANT: You notice a legionnaire directing the battle from the front line. You also notice another legionnaire wearing the commander's mantle sneaking away from the battle and into the town's back alleys.
You ask the townsfolk around you if any of them could be a healer. Your question is met with silence, they had run off through the back door which now stood ajar, giving you a glimpse into the alleyway behind the house.
YOU ARE STILL AWAY FROM THE MAIN BATTLE, NO ONE SEEMS TO HAVE NOTICED YOU, LEGIONNAIRE OR BEASTMAN.
Outcome: Success (+1)
Status: 1/0/1/1 Fracture (-1 DMG)
The last of the beastmen turned tail and ran, the 9th legion stood in the small plaza, victorious, but there were many more beastmen in the town still. Smoke was rising in two places, where the docks were and where the regional governor's mansion was along with administrative buildings and the homes of regional nobles.
Commander Lukevic is nowhere to be found.
The corpses of legionnaires and beastmen litter the plaza.
WHICH WAY SHOULD THE LEGION GO? WHO SHOULD LEAD THEM? Sorry for no pictures, I didn't have the time.
