There have been threats from within the FBI that if she is not indicted they'll go public with the relevant information, which could torpedo her campaign.

Claims of it, at least. The sources always seem to be anonymous. I mean, that's kinda' understandable considering if they weren't said people would be fired instantly and probably in jail, but still.

That said, if it actually happens I'll be impressed. It'd be almost admirable to actually see someone sacrificing their job and some number of years in prison for what they see as justice. E: Well, or however large the bribe ended up being. That'd be less admirable, but significantly more likely :V

Let's be real here. The predominant reason for hatred of gay people is religion, all other reasons are disorganized and incoherent. He killed these people in the name of Islam, and we have to recognize that for what it is.

This is the face of a believer who chooses not to compartmentalize, and if you come around pronouncing how "it's not Islam, it's hate" then you're missing the point. It is the interconnection of religion and moral indignation that allowed the shooter to commit to this action.

It is literally an official teaching of the RCC that living a normal life as a homosexual is evil. You can dress it up as "everyone sins" and "you just don't have to act on it", but that is plainly bullshit. Maybe you're a homophobe, and maybe you're not, but Catholicism is, and people who treat it as more than a vague societal framework but an actual description of the universe would be happy to have never had to deal with "the LGBTs".
