Venn diagrams aren't the proper way to show percentages anyway. They're only supposed to show simple Yes/No relations between different groups.

It's... trying to? The yes/no relation is towards universal background checks, and the different groups are americans and gun owners (though there's some overlap between those two in ways not covered by the diagram, obviously enough). The percentages are basically just fuzzy numbers, since it's difficult to fit a nine digit number (that wouldn't even be entirely accurate itself) in a circle that size.

They probably should have just gone with two pie charts.  Or even just one, showing support from gun owners.  It's confusing to also try to include the percentage of the supergroup at the same time...

Particularly when it actually just brings attention to the fact that gun owners are less likely to support the measure.  Which is both obvious, but also (if anything) an argument against the measure.  Just... just point out that a clear majority of gun owners support the background checks, that's so much cleaner.

I didn't even know Hillary Clinton did graphic design.

This reminds me of a fun game to play with regards to the x-files.  Describe all people who work for the government in any capacity as "the government".  So Scully and Maulder are the government.  Skinner is the government.  The smoking man is the government.  So sometimes the government thinks that the government is acting like loose cannons but the government is quick to point out that the government gets results and the government cant continue her work without the government.

I'm well aware that high profile people often rarely if ever touch their own twitter account, but at the same time, intended view of that is that she made that diagram herself and that tweet came out of her mouth. If it had been tweeted from an account like "The HRC Campgaign" that'd be different, but her name is at the top of that account.

Although it does say "Tweets from Hillary signed with -H" in the profile... but if I hadn't dug deeper into it, and perhaps had just been one of thousands, even millions of people who might have seen that as a tweet by itself, I wouldn't have known that for sure.
