It's not linked to the NC laws, that's for sure, but we can't really dispute what happens in the video. Maybe the cops in the video are acting without any legal basis for their actions: but that certainly doesn't bode well for when they get a mandate to do what we see in the video.

According to snopes, the video was made in december. Though without a timestamp on it, it's hard to say when it took place anyway.

I looked a bit and it seems like the law isn't actually being enforced, at least it doesn't sound like it.

Yeah, sorry, even in the Snopes article it said it was probably not related. I saw stories linking it, and then I tried to dig further to get a postable source.

The one thing republicans never considered was how to deal with hermaphrodites

...

Then either things are really damn different in NZ or you're basically blind
Honestly either of these are pretty likely

That's still transgender in their view.

They also never consider the fact that their hypothetical predators could impersonate trans men much more easily than trans women.

There are no known cases of actual human hermaphrodites, by the way.  Humans can have intersex conditions, which are superficially similar, but an actual hermaphrodite is fully functional as both male and female.  Intersex people are not.  Slugs are an example of hermaphrodites.

I'm guessing that some polling places are still going and due in about 45 min due to timezones?

Edit: Saw that theres apparently a handful of counties in the central timezone, so, yeah.

They do have a choice.  They either register with the party or they dont vote in closed primaries.

In other words, you have a choice between supporting the interests of the two organizations that dominate national politics, or having no meaningful input at all.

Yeah, it's not like the barrier to become a registered democrat is very high. I'm a green party member. I pay my fee. I get to vote in the leadership of the party, the platform and the composition of the various electoral lists. I'd be pretty upset if some random socialist came in and wanted to vote on who our candidates are going to be.

This is much more fair when you have a decent selection of functional parties carrying actual weight in your nation's politics.

If your socialist or green party gets to be important enough, whichever of the big too parties is closest is all but required to absorb it into their general platform. If they don't, a serious third party run guarantees that they lose.

That's the unfortunate effect of the First Past The Post system.

What does that even mean?  I mean it's probably true in some literal sense but "supporting the party" seems to be "increase the registration numbers by one".  If you are so hostile towards the democratic party that you consider that a bad thing I absofuckinglutely do not want you getting your grubby hands anywhere near our nomination process.

When was the last time that you heard of a person expressing "TERF" views (I'm not even convinced those are a real thing).  Like in real life.

When was the last time you heard casual sexism with no consequences to the person expressing it.  Agains, in real life.

There's a reason why we are more concerned with one then the other...
When was the last time transgender people were actively persecuted by law?

Not as easy as you might think. Casual sexism is common, but casual transphobia+overt trans hatred is at least as common.

I don't remember if anyone mentioned, but Trump has hinted that Ted Cruz's father was involved with the JFK assassination

“His father was with Lee Harvey Oswald prior to Oswald's being — you know, shot. I mean, the whole thing is ridiculous,” Trump said Tuesday during a phone interview with Fox News. “What is this, right prior to his being shot, and nobody even brings it up. They don't even talk about that. That was reported, and nobody talks about it.”

“I mean, what was he doing — what was he doing with Lee Harvey Oswald shortly before the death? Before the shooting?” Trump continued. “It’s horrible.”

Is it really that unbelievable? After all, we are talking about the man who fathered the Zodiac Killer.
