Urinals are, in my experience, far easier to clean and tend to be cleaner in general because of it as well. Mostly because nobody is trying to poop in it, but still. They're more efficient per-flush when considering water usage too.

flushing is overrated, all you need is a long trough with a drain on one end. as long as we take care of the piss, god will take care of the economy.

"Pooping in the urinal" is actually a pretty good description of US politics, I think. It vaguely resembles what's actually supposed to be happening, just enough to make it more disturbing that it would otherwise be, but is ultimately an exercise in antisocial destructiveness that leaves you wondering what's wrong with the people responsible.

Tensions rise between the meso american countries of Belize and Guatemala.
Both countries are sending extra troops to their borders.

This was sparked by an incident last week, when a 13 year old kid from Guatemala died after he, his father, and his 11 year old brother came under fire from Belize military forces.

Guatemala's president Jimmy Morales has called it a cowardly attack, and demands that the soldiers responsible get punished.
The Belize government however claims that their soldiers acted in self defense.

According to the Belize press agency, military border patrols are more and more often becoming the victims of attacks by Guatamalteks who are doing illegal things near the border.

Tension between the two countries isn't new, especially since they don't agree about where exactly the border between the two countries is.

Heh, yeah, I remember a couple years ago when Google Maps accidentially stepped in it by making a map (duh) of the Nicaragua border and sparking a brief spat between Nicaragua and Guatemala I think, two of the Central American countries anyway.

Pretty sure the US has never actually wanted to own any part of south america. That would mean they'd have to have a facsimile of giving a shit about it, instead of using it as a corporate litter box.

Also, gods, considering the time period that would probably have led to just taking over the whole damned continent after kicking the south in the nads, and then you'd be having brush wars between states in 2016 instead of some place no one (that matters, i.e. americans) can find on a map. Th'US avoided exactly what it wanted to.

I clean professionally. Urinals are among the nastiest things on this planet, and nobody I work with would shed a tear if they were banned.

Have to admit, I'm now wondering if anyone's ran statistics on regional public restroom hygiene in the US. I half think that some group or another has, but hasn't made the findings public because no one actually wants to know hard data on that. Unless they happen to be in the cleanest region, anyway.
