Well they did have it split into "Do you want to stay a territory or not?" and "If you had to choose a non-territory option, what would you pick?"

Esp. if they do it with ranking, they could get a majority choice after seeing what the second and third choices are of the least-wanted options.

I'm amused by how the immaculate republican is an utterly generic white guy.  The immaculate democrat would be someone with a really specific background.  Maybe a third generation legal immigrant Hispanic/White/Asian war veteran who is mother of a gay child with downs syndrome who was mayor of Austin.  (Works whether the mother or the child was mayor of Austin).

You're missing a few points there, the ideal Republican candidate would be a large business owner, with or without any political experience, who goes to church every Sunday and wears a cowboy hat occasionally to show that he's still one of the hard-working, pickup-driving blue-collar American workers in his office for four hours a day.

I think that's kinda wrong.  The republicans desperately want as generic and boring a republican as possible, just someone who manages to be charismatic as possible while being as generic as possible.  George Bush for instance.  Except not George Bush because they want none of the baggage and we are talking "immaculate".  I dont think democrats want generic.  When they found the very non-generic Barack Obama he soared through their ranks in no time at all.

Come to think of it, the ideal Democrat (that is to say, the democratic party, not the ideal liberal) would be an older white woman who can still be a "first" but won't make racist people as uneasy as Barak did. She would have a bottomless war chest to fund her presidential campaign, and doesn't need to be even remotely liberal -- in fact, if she's fairly conservative, she would probably be able to pick up Republican traitors fed up with Trump and Cruz. Above all, she needs to remind undecided voters of the '90s, a nostalgic time for most of them. A connection to Bill Clinton, to pick up the black vote, is a plus.

God DAMMIT.

I hate to say it, but I do understand why the oligarchs chose her...

and doesn't need to be even remotely liberal

The ideal candidate maxes the upside multiplied by the chance of victory.  A conservative would have a bit more chance to win but would have no upside.  The whole point is too keep someone who wants to cut taxes on the rich and impose social conservatism on people out of office.

Or this is yet another highly creative take on "OMG, Clinton's not a liberal guys".  In which case...

I just want to say what I want, work for what I want to work for, spend my money how I want to spend it no matter how much I earn, and have no one force me to do otherwise.

Too much to ask?
Just some liberty is all I want.

When a cell says that, it's literally cancer.  People are part of societies, and their actions impact each other for better or worse.

Vague statements about freedom with loopholes large enough to drive a small tax-haven nation-state through and ample provision for sucking at the teat of social benefits while refusing to contemplate the obligations which accompany them? Yep, sounds like a libertarian to me. ^.^b

Minarchist
I believe its better to keep government as minimum as possible for a functioning society.

Such as courts, police, national defense force.

I also believe that smaller forms of government within the US do have abilities to do actions such as free schooling and what not as well as other places being less so.

Yah know give people some wiggle room not force everyone into some arbitary dogma they don't agree with.
