This feels like the "Clinton is corrupt" meme.  He is a whore because he does whorelike things.  The things he does are whorelike because a whore does them.

Hey, Powder Miners dad is the one who called Christie that, not us. I was just giving a plausible reason.

Howzabout "mercenary"? Does that work better?

It's not so much the semantics of the label I object to as the lack of corroborating arguments for the label.  Trump is in many ways a closer political match to Christie then any other republican candidate.  Candidates who drop out of primaries frequently endorse someone who is politically similar to them.  Why would something that is routine for another candidate beyond the pale in this instance?

Christie is basically endorsing the guy who out-Chris-Christie'd him. The word I'd use to describe that is "sad" though.

I agree that one politician calling another out like that is whimsically silly, because politics is all about intellectuall whoring of this kind--  Shit, arranged marriage for political effect even used to be a literal thing.

However, that does not suddenly insulate the politician from the rhetoric of a nonpolitician.

To most people's sensibilities, the rapidly shifting "loyalties" in political circles are nothing short of ghastly.

The fact that this is just how modern politics works is not withstanding. Normal people are offended by that kind of behavior. The guy's dad who gave the appellation is presumably a normal guy, and finds it ghastly.

I suppose being a political junkie could desensitize someone to this in a way that a sane human would not be.

Hah... you know what? I actually can't. It doesn't help that I'm almost unable to think that deeply right now because of fatigue but... I honestly can't.

It's also possible this is his way of sticking it to the Republican establishment by endorsing the guy that has become a political embarrassment for Republican leadership.

I'm going to stay by my theory that Trump has in fact designed a mind control device.  He walks around with a massive target on his back and nobody bothers to smack him.

Well, it could very well be whittled down to two (Trump and either Rubio or Cruz) after Super Tuesday. Though Kasich is probably going to hang out a little longer, Cruz has set Texas as his go/no go signal, Carson could very well drop out....

Though if Cruz, Rubio, and Kasich stay in, the pressure will be on for two of them to drop out to consolidate.

Do you guys think some sort of Rubio/Cruz alliance would grow out of Super Tuesday?

Mine isn't far removed--  Mass psychosis of the US electorate, due to a disconnected and incorrect geopolitical world view.

"Misogynistic", nice dig.
The Democratic party professionals don't think a socialist with grand promises will win.  And if he does win, by running against the only Republican as extreme as he is, he won't be able to get anything passed.

Yes, single-payer health care is the best solution.  Obama and Clinton knew that, because they're aware of the rest of the civilized world.  But there's a huge difference between "best solution" and "what we're able to get passed via trading favors with congress".

I think it's telling that so many idealistic young people *I know* are saying "Well if Sanders doesn't get nominated, I'll vote for Trump!!".  As if literally any change is good.  Seriously, there's every reason to be disillusioned.  Just vote Batman, not this guy.
