Because anti-establishment and anger at the establishment? Really, I don't know how it would and he's breaking all the usual campaign conventions, so it's kind of unpredictable how it would go.

Paraphrasing a line of scripture from 1 Timothy (which Trump would no doubt pronounce "One Timothy")

This is like laughing at anyone who says that 2+2 isn't 5... ???

Indeed.  I suspect the logic is a matter of a fear of him "selling out" to the establishment; why else would the establishment suddenly endorse him?  I don't think it would quite work out that way in practice, especially since Trump is unlikely to decide spontaneously to moderate himself at the same time.  I suspect, however, that it would only weaken the establishment - too tied to the old ways to be acceptable to the new guard while alienating the old guard and undecideds - while only validating Trump's rhetoric.  In other words, Trump's campaign would only be emboldened as these "selfish power-brokers" suddenly start latching on to him, and strategic voters who would ordinarily be personally inclined to Trump but prefer to vote for someone with a shot at winning would suddenly see him as having that shot.

Guys, Palin has provided the perfect word from Trump and his supporters: Trumpet. People who sing Trump's praises are Trumpeters. It's a beautiful idea, and it was provided by everyone's favorite vice-presidential candidate: Sarah Palin.

Marco Rubio once drank a beer in a park.

He was 18. We've all done stupid things when we were young. If nobody made a big deal of Obama 'smoking a little weed' in college, nobody's going to make a big deal out of Rubio doing that back then.

I thought his point was how politics is like gossip but more trivial.

This is probably his exact point.

Well I wasn't gonna vote for him before, but I definitely won't now. How can someone with such poor understanding of basic public health practice possibly be president?
