In a situation like this, they treat ALL packages with even a hint of something odd as potential bombs. I don't know the false alarm rate, but it's above 50%, IIRC.

My Google-Fu has failed to find any organizations listing events at the IRC today....having to filter out all the news items makes it tough.

Interesting bit on CBS that the FBI did a trend analysis and determined that from 2000-2006, there were an average of 6.4 active shooter incidents per year. Since 2007, it's averaged 16.6 incidents a year.

So yeah...it's happening more often and that's not just observation bias.
