Yes, but if you have a hurricane with windspeeds of 10000mph that wouldn't be a hurricane anymore.
That would be a What If scenario.

That would be the Emperor deciding to cleanse the planet of Heresy.

It has been determined that Trump is an average unladen swallow travelling northbound at his maximum sustainable speed of -3 Obama-cubits per second in the middle of a class 3 hurricane.

More seriously, why would destruction peak at some arbitrary windspeed? More speed= more energy = more destruction. Unless you've already destroyed everything I guess.

Quote
According to Robert Simpson, there are no reasons for a Category 6 on the Saffir–Simpson Scale because it is designed to measure the potential damage of a hurricane to man-made structures. Simpson stated that "...when you get up into winds in excess of 155 mph (249 km/h) you have enough damage if that extreme wind sustains itself for as much as six seconds on a building it's going to cause rupturing damages that are serious no matter how well it's engineered"

This seems to be the originating quote. It's not saying damage doesn't increase over 155mph, it's says not to bother shoring stuff up to withstand anything over that speed because you're basically fucked no matter what. Which might make sense if you're a building designer, but basically makes no sense as a storm warning for people who live there.

Since Cat-5 hurricanes result in far less than 100% casualities, basic logic tells us that storms with higher wind speeds will cause more death and destruction. And not all buildings get flattened in a Cat-5 storm, entirely disproving the basic sentiment from the quote. Clearly, a more powerful storm will collapse more buidlings and kill more people than a Cat-5 storm. To say otherwise is silly.

Since at least SimCity2000, you can, at your discretion, cause disasters to happen. Earthquakes, Tornadoes, Hurricanes, ..... Alien invasions....

So, yes--- Bored SimCity player sounds apropos.

I'm still not feeling safe. Can we erect the Great Pacific Wall just outside U.S. territorial waters?

I approve of these measures, so long as you wait until I've found a way out first.

Pacific Rim was social commentary about how Trump's wall will be destroyed by squid beasts and he should focus on making America great again by funding Australian battle robots

Back to the hurricane, it petered out as it hit landfall. No casulties so far, and no serious damage yet.

It'd be wierd if it turned out to be a paper tiger. Although, isn't that area of Mexico pretty mountainous? It's not like the lowlands of the east coast or the Gulf coast.
